Hi Guys,

I would expect acetone (nail varnish remover ) to be the best commonly available solvent for PVA (polyvinyacetate) glues.

Allow a 10 minute dwell time as you are softening rather than dissolving.

Seriously though , normal sort of rules apply with solvents re toxicity , flammability etc but otherwise pretty straightforward.

Don't breath it in too heavily - that's for sure.

Its awful stuff to work with but effective.

I take it that it can de-laminate or cause problems with bitumen backed tiles like the usual solvents

Accetone or pog

When using any solvents you must apply the solvent to a cloth or towel then apply it to the stain. Pouring any solvent directly onto a carpet is likely to degrade the adhesives and cause delamination.
I know most of you know that, just a reminder for those that aren't aware.

Using a citrus type gel will cause a PVA adhesive to "blow out" during the dwell time. It expands to about double the original size, is soft and then easy to remove. No problem either with solvent migration into the backing.
