Misunderstandings
« on: November 06, 2006, 03:15:25 pm »
Hi

Went to look at job last week.

2 areas to be cleaned 1 at £45 + 1 at £40 = £85.

Client agrees, book job in Monday afternoon.

Does job today plus small area of carpet approx 1 sq yd.

I thought to myself I will just add an extra £5 for the extra =£90

Cussty say " oh you quoted £45 shall i make the cheque out for £50 " me speechless.

Moral of story allways confirm price in writting.

Dave

PS She gave me a cheque for £90, so all ended well.

i don't have this problem
i go and see all my potential customers first and write down the price for each room and then the toatal price

never get any confusion over payment.

I do the same, but getting difficult due to time of year. I'm now doing all my surveys after 6 but not getting home till half 7 or 8 o'clock. If you can ..... then see them, there'll be no confusion over price, you know how long the job will take and what you need , but most important off all you have at least double the chance of closing the deal and making the booking !!  ;D ;D

Even if you give an estimate over the phone you should allways do a survey before you clean, we use this time to measure and write out a quote, after all when a custy says that a lounge is 12 * 12 you can bets it 13 * 13.

Pre inspect is one of the most 'professional' things you can do.

1. you can look for potential problems
2. you can look very professional

Hi

I went last week to look at it.

Told her £85.

Today she says £45.

Who Knew.
