Hi folks.
Been wfp ing for about 2 months now and I can finally say that I like it.

Was not too sure when I started with it, I thought that I had made a really big and exspensive mistake.  Constantly got fed up with the hoses getting cought on things and I was really paranoid about leaving the windows wet etc.
Anyway.  Now I find that I have got to grips with it.  All of my customers say they are happy with the results and I have picked up work that I couldn't do before.
I know I am still very green in the world of wfp but it wasn't until yesterday that I realised I had made the right choice.

Did anyone else feel like this when they started wfp ing?  The one thing that I will try and change one day is my longer pole.  When fully extended it really is pretty flexible and can be abit awkward to manhandle and as I rinse off the glass it can be a struggle to rinse with any real accuracy.
I have put a quote in to do the windows at the local high school, my longest pole is 24ft and I dont think it will be long enough for the one part of the school, as it is only a twice yearly clean I dont really want to buy a huge pole so was wondering if anyone knows of a rent-a-pole company?
Sorry to go on a bit.

The very first day I started wfp I loved it - took to it like a duck in water, got one complaint in the first week, then another one about 2 months later.  Made over £150 first day wfp too - don't ask me how I done it!

Some just don't take to it for a while, One guy we built a system for rang us after his first day (we normally take people out for a morning wfping first before letting them loose with it - he told us a friend had showed him how to wfp), anyway he rang later that evening (obviously in tears), wanted to know if we would buy the system and his van back off him - customers complaining and was fretting he was going to lose all his work!!

Took him out wfping the next morning - went through the basics with him, and now, 8 months in the same guy would never ever part with wfp.

Funny that.

I think at the beginning most people think they made a big mistake i know i did.

My first week i had a few problems likes leaving a few runs and a few spots but there was not that many on a few customers most came up ok.

Anyway only one customer noticed as i was cleaning till about 2pm and then going back round checking but one customer beat me back and there was a huge run down her patio door.
But she was ok as she said it will take time until im used to it.

After the first week it got a lot easier and i stopped going back round checking.

Now 20 months on i would not go back to ladders.
Its a wonderful tool if used correctly and the more you use it the better you get.

Hi Ant.

well done mate, it only gets better now.

Next week its a year for me, the best move i made & i love it & work is great now, i love it.

Have you thought about microbore? It will make your work quicker & loads easier, hardley ever snags, pulls out & rolls in in seconds. I reckon it saves me 1hr a day & no more throwing my toys out the pram.  ;D

Interesting reading... :)

I was thinking about that.
I think most decent people will be understanding, and glad you're still cleaning their windows.

Cheers for the replies.
Macc I have microbore hoses.  I know they dont snag as much as normal hoses but I went through a stage of getting cought up on everything and anything.  basically I think I've just chilled out a bit now and things seem to go much more smoothly.

Depending on what type of pole you have, you might be able to add sections to it. Get back to whoever sold you it and ask them if that's possible. Then you'll only be paying for the extra length, not a whole new pole  - and probably for less than the cost of a hire too! (If anyone does hires, that is)

Then again, if you have a longer pole you'll find work for it.

That'll be a fiver, thanks.
