Van Leasing
« on: May 26, 2004, 02:09:54 am »
The time has come for us to get a new (or nearly new) vehicle.  We want a little van, but I would prefer to lease it for the moment as I dont really want to pull out a few grand just at this moment.

The van I am after will be something like a peugeot partner:

Maybe a Vauxhall Combo

Now I'd love a mitsubishi but thats wishful thinking and not practical

Anyway, I want to lease one, but am afraid of being ripped off.  Do you get free servicing when leasing a van?

Also, if I wanted to have a pure-water system installed are you allowed to do that on a leased vehicle?

And most importantly, who do you go to to lease a van?  is it the dealerships or are there special companies that do it?

I dont want to pay more than about £160 per month, I'm pretty sure I could get a van lease for that.

Does anyone have any experience of van leasing and know the pitfalls to avoid?  Or a company to recommend who you had a good deal and service from?

Thanks very much

Hi Phil,

I know you have an accounting background, so what are the pro's and con's of leasing?

I've never leased, but only bought one van brand new and then wept when I discovered the first day's depreciation! Have you considered buying from a hire company? Most folk think the motors are thrashed, but they're serviced on time and if anything goes wrong they're put right before going out on hire again. (Can you tell I used to be in car hire?)

Try this lot . . . http://www.makromotors.co.uk/ or AutoTrader and arrange your own financing - probably a better deal than any motor company will give you.

Phil,

With a van that size you might be better off buying, or lease purchase, if you do the maths, there are lots of import deals around saving you a fair bit of ££££s

No problem installing a system Contract Hire if done professionally, servicing is all in as is the first year's tax.  A lot of the too good to be true deals don't allow for much mileage, but I doubt you'll do more than 5000 p.a. if you are local.

I can recommend a good company for both.

Philip,

How about a new Renault Kangoo complete with 300ltr Reach & Wash system for just £8 per day. Just think the first house you clean each day will pay for it in just 15-20 minutes.

Majestic,

I gave the example as advertised in Window Talk and other trade publications. The example was for a New Renault Kangoo complete with 300ltr Reach & Wash commercial system fitted with a Speedliner floor on a 60-month lease. We negotiated a really good deal with Renault to supply Kangoo van systems at a truly unbeatable price.

We can now offer contract hire and interest free on some systems up to five years subject to status.

CONTRACT HIRE
This option includes filters that will be sent out at the required intervals and an annual service carried out by our mobile service engineer who will visit you at your place of work to carry out the service. This option means that you will never experience any additional costs and the way we have worked the deal out with the funders means that the monthly cost is actually lower compared to leasing.

INTEREST FREE
This option speaks for itself, you pay no interest on the purchase of a Reach & Wash system for up to 5 years. This offer is only available on 650 and 1,000 ltr Commercial and Thermo-pure machines subject to status.

POLES
Ionic offer Residential, Universal Glass Fibre and Carbon Fibre, and our unique range of ULTRA-Lite glass and Carbon fibre waterfed poles that are 30% lighter than any other waterfed pole available. Due to the wide range of WFP's on offer (50 in total) we leave the choice to the customer and do not offer pole inclusive deals.

DEPOSIT
The deposit can be zero if you wish, however this will also depend on your personal circumstances.

SIGN WRITING
Only Reach & Wash customers are authorised to use the Reach & Wash logo. They may do this at their discretion, many choose to because it is the leading brand and also because we market the Reach & Wash system to building owners and architects it is readily identified by potential customers. The Ionic logo and the Reach & Wash logo are registered trade marks, thought we permit the use of the R&W logo to authorised customers we do not permit the use of the Ionic Systems logo.

Our finance options make the Reach & Wash system the most affordable waterfed pole system on the market, you only need to frown if you are paying more per month for a lower quality option!

If anyone would like further info and a personal demonstration of the equipment and a tailored finance illustration please contact us by calling our freephone number below and a representative will call to arrange an appointment.

Best regards

Phil,
regarding leasing a van. No, leasing does not include servicing. That would be a Contract Hire Agreement.
We can supply most new or near new makes of vans and would be more than happy to discuss ins and outs of finance if you care to give us a ring.
        Direct line o1254 663274.
We deliver free to all uk mainland adresses,
                    Regards

Thank you all for your replies,

I like the sound of the Kangoo with the system installed, though £8 a day = £240 a month which is a little bit beyond my budget at the moment.

Still I'll give it some thought, actually I'm popping over to wiltshire in a couple of days, so maybe we could have a chat.

Hi Phil,
In your response to your request for information on leasing a new van I have priced up a 5 year lease on a new Fiat Doblo 1.9D.

The initial deposit would be £1112.03 inc VAT and road fund licence.

followed by 59 monthly payments of £128.94 + vat.
This is less than £30 + vat per week.

The price includes delivery to any UK mainland address.
The monthly payments can be offset against your companies taxable profits and if you are vat registered you claim the vat back at the end of each quarter.
At the the end of the 5yr term you trade or sell the vehicle on and the equity (- 5% to the leasing company) is yours to put into your next van.

I hope this gives you a reference on leasing and if you should wish to talk further on this matter do not hesitate to call for a no obligations chat.

Regards
Paul

The monthly cost comes down if you pay a larger deposit, the example I gave was with minimal deposit.
