wfp hospital
« on: October 31, 2006, 05:18:17 pm »
i teamed up with a mate from new milton (chriss) and we took on this big new hospital in new milton.

what you see here is only a part of the clean, the building has 4 sides (very large stairwells) and 6 court yards.

it took 4 of us 2 days using wfp, if it were to be done trad it would have been a nightmare to do as there were h&s inspectors on site.

i dread to think how long it would have taken trad but i would say at least a week and a half using ladders and cherry pickers.

so horray for WFP

Yes, we were there with Jay. Builders clean.
107 rooms, 3 lift towers 60 feet glass clad, inner courtyards with loads of windows using 40 ft pole.
Two days, four men, job done.

Site agent, project manager and surveyor all said what a cracking job and signed it off for payment.

Bit of an exceptional job I know but it proves what is possible with WFP.

Chris

BTW I used my converted carbon fishing pole (24ft) on a lot of the work - what a godsend after using a 38 ft glass fibre pole most of the time!

WFP is great. How on earth do you price a job like that tho??? I wouldnt know where to start. Do you just questimate it? And when workin at that height do you rinse with the brush on? :)

hi dave
i have to give credit where it's due, the pricing was down to chris, being a local lad he did all the leg work and i did all the polework (only joking chris)

as for the rinsing, i leave the brush on glass until i get to a more manageable height when i can lift the brush from the glass

hi marcus,
lets hope so, chris and i both thought they were a bit premature with the clean as it's not being handed over until jan 2008 and there is still building work going on so you can imagine the dust on the windows within the next few weeks.

we can see ourselves back there sooner than we expected.

This would of been a good article for the PWC Mag. How you got the job , how you priced it , what problems you came across, how much water you used .
