Turbo Terry v the Rest of the World
« on: October 30, 2006, 09:30:26 pm »
AS a thread has been skewed to show our Terry in a slightly bad light [we're not worthy ::)]
I thought I'd start one up just on the subject of Turbo Terry Burrows and the Americans!
If they think they are hard enough, can't the guinness world record people set up a proper competition??
On a level playing field?
I'm sure the others claim they are the quickest, but I don't know about you, but I want to see proof positive!!

Don't you too?
And I'll bet Terry himself would love to stick it to the pretenders to his throne...wouldn't you Terry? [we're not worthy ::)]

Is ProPole's claim that the others are quicker correct?

My Money's on Terry [We're not worthy ::)]

Who is your's on?

Terry without a shadow of doubt.

Whenever someone or something British is known to be the best, people in this country can't accept we're the best at something.
Whenever we're best at anything people say "Nah, have you seen the Japanese bloke!"

There always has to be someone else in the world, usually American, Japanese or somewhere who is better, who no-one's ever heard of. ::)

Rubbish, as Terry said it's not official anywhere else and no Johnny Foreigner is going to beat our British champ. ;)

I saw Terry once.  At Hinkley 2004 Fed Trade Show.................
Absolute magic!!!!!

And Yes I feel we should throw down the gauntlet to the WORLD and hold a WORLD championship.  Get the Yanks, Japs and chinese squeege jugglers and our Terry on the same rules. Terry would love the challenge!!!

this ain't a WFP thread!
And I'll not have it turned into one ProPole.
Keep the arguments or comments on topic please.

For Terry to have got into the record book, the Guinness people have their own adjudicators I understand.
And I didn't quote, just wanted to give a general feel as to what you were suggesting.
But to quote you;

In America they dont mess around with stuff like this everything is done fair! bring Takeo over here and let him rip with the same rules terry has, he will wipe the floor of him (sorry terry)

You haven't said that he is faster, but you are implying it.

If Terry reads this thread, I'm sure he will inform us as to the relevance of who adjudicates for his world record attempts.

I'm prepared to bet that it is scrupulously above board.

And as no one can get remotely close to Terry at these competitions for us lesser mortals to have a bash at, who better to adjudicate than Terry himself.

and that sill probably adds the best part of half a second at least to a record attempt! And that is an awful lot at world record pace.

I have just watched the video of Terry in action from the above mentioned web page.

Yes he his very fast, But.

I know he was only practicing but when he starts to squgee he completly misses the top right hand corner and the top left corner as well. Why?

On a real window that a customer pays for he would not do that.

For me its an irrelevant speed test. Its devoid of the real conditions you face when you clean windows in the real world.

For someone to be the fastest w/cleaner in the world in my book it would have to be timed on a real house were you would use ladders, then all the skills you need would be tested. IE, fitness, ladder speed, hand speed, Balance, cordination.

That will never happen due to health and safety regs, But getting judges in a house that they use for a competion, to examine your work that utilize all the skills that you need in the real world of w/cleaning is far more relevant then cleaning 3 windows next to each other indoors.

He was just showing off the circles and things.
That wasn't a seriously speed clean.

If it was he would cover all the glass and it would take less than 3 seconds, not about 10!

You lot make me laugh ;D

Here we have a topic about the confirmed fastest window cleaner and all you do is argue.

You just argue about everything from the minute you start! ;D

Why not have a Guinness record of the fastest argument?  I bet someone on here would win! ;D

No they wouldn't!  Yes they would! ::)

for the record, polepro! I do not judge the British competitions, never have done, there are seperate judges for this,I only have fun and compare them!I am simply not allowed to enter over here! as for the so called fast ones that have never ever stood in britain ;D NEC is open to any one,now do you get my drift, where as I have been, to France in the europrop!Las Vegas world contests,Texas contests,I rest my case for all you non believers non patriots etc, this country is renown for just not accepting that they do have the best in the world, not just me! but any one, they just want to knock it,why do they want my record ;D so they could say there the best, its like our great boxers that went to America and we all would see the yank would win why,the judges bent that way,
they do not want me over there, trust me I know I told Guinness of the way the runthe contests, and when Guinness took me to france to make
a TV program, your frank lauret and his side kick! was doing all wrong right in front of the official Guinness Book of Records,to which I said told you so,thats why Guinness will always believe me over them, they cant play ball, case rested ;D

Please tell me your not referring to Frank "the statue" Bruno lol  ;D

At the end of the day, as with all situations like this, some people will say they have a quicker or faster person than the other. All I know is that whoever you believe, they deserve respect for what they can do.

Now, I am back off to my WFP, wanna race Terry  ;) ;) ;) ;)

Hi Terry,

Im sorry for what looks like my negative judgment on your skill, I would like to say again that I did not doubt you was the champ and am infact glad that we have shown the yanks how its done. I was curious, and didnt feel I had to grovel at your mighty feet like some here.

You have set the record at a very remarkable speed, so much so thats its near impossible to clean all three windows without any mistakes in that kind of time and speed. I doubt anyone anywere could do all three withing 8secs and not get many mistakes, 8.24 is lightning, long may you hold it ;).

Please accept my appolige terry, it was curiousity not doubt or even wanting some wild west, dougnut eating yank taking it from our proud grip, I will chalange you to a little dual before the compition at NEC 2007 mate  :-\ :-\ :-\ I better get practasing, hadnt I ;D ;D
