I am a newbie here and have been going since Aug this year, I have a 250l tank and wished that I had got a 400l.....but tank size is dependent on many factors and budgets but I would have been better going for a larger tank.

Cheers
Dave.

I agree with dave.  I only started wfp in August and opted for a 250 lt tank.  Wish I had got a 400 lt  at least.
Veni, vidi, vino, splatus.

Just hate having to drive home and fill up or lug 25l containers about to fill the main 250l.... :)

Use a submersible pump, you'll fill up your 250l tank in a couple of minutes that way.

But as Tom says, whatever tank you go for is entirely dependant on the van you drive and its payload.

Put a big one in it - you will only be over weight going out in the mornings.

and that's the exact moment that you will get pulled. Bad advice Marc.
Don't forget the add all the kit you have, body weight of persons and fuel.

I am  amazed that it took 41 minutes for someone to take the bait!!

When was the last time you were pulled by the police or VOSA - it is highly unlikely to happen - especially if you live in a rural area like mine, I am even considering running on red deisel as I am sick and tired of paying to keep so called "democrats" in comfort while taxing us to death.

With the liklyhood of increasing road taxes for larger vehicles - my van included - it won't be long before most people are selling them onto ficticious people so they can register them falsly and not pay road tax, insurance and any other tax which becomes levied for just moving about - as you can tell I have already thought of doing this, not actually done it yet, but I am sure the time will come very soon.

Your van can run on vegtable oil. Its cheaper then Deisel.

But the goverment expects you to be honest. So if you put say 10ltrs of veg oil in a week. You have to pop down to the tax office fill in a form and pay a fuel duty tax on the Veg oil.

I am to honest so for what I would save putting the V oil in I would be Giving our Gorden it back with my other hand. Not to mention the time I would waste going to the tax office to do it.

Bad advice their Mark on going overweight.

I have a 320ltr tank in my Berlingo, with all my kit and not eating breakfast I am just under weight. (650kg payload)This size is just enough to earn my daily wage, but on one or two larger jobs I do have to pop home to refill. This is not too bad as I use this time for a well earned break and never use all of the second tank. I hope this helps!

why not try a trailer

thus allowing more water capacity only the kerb weight of the vehicle is needed so its better for some people,

there are several on the market including our domi 400

you will also be able to take it or leave it at home as you need it and the space in your van isnt comprimised.

just a thought
