The tds out of my merlin averages 034 (even after new pre-filter: very hard water area-430 tds )There fore my 25 litre resin only lasts approx 8 weeks before moving up to 001.Then I need to change to new resin.Have found that rather than throwing away the resin straight away,by connecting the new resin (in a second 25 litre di vessel) after the spent resin, my 'new' resin is lasting longer. After 7 weeks, the 'old' resin is reading 002 so the new resin is only having to handle 002 and not 034 and hopefully will last a lot longer than the 8 weeks. It does pleasantly surprise me though that after 7 weeks the 'old' resin has only deteriorated to 002.And by the way I happened to have a spare di vessel otherwise its £65 approx but might still be cost effective if had to buy one.Dunno. Any thoughts?Filllllll.
That's the way I always do it. I am DI only and am still on my 3rd bag of resin since I started WFP 14 months ago. My tap water is about 50 TDS. Just be carefull not to let the resin in your 1st container get higher than the tds of the water going into it. Dai
