Working in pairs with WFP
« on: October 22, 2006, 11:59:59 am »
Hi Guy's
I'm still Trad, but will be changing to wfp in the new year, I sometimes have my boss (wife) along with me, and I intend to do tops and bottoms not just tops, so my question is how do you work with two on the same house?

to be honest i find that if you work for 5 to 10 mins (depends how big the property is) then let your mate take over... keep sharing often and frequently you can do a third more in a day.... one pole 2 people sharing so that you never actually tire, plus the other person is moving the hose, stop it getting tangled etc etc... stops to chat to the customer whilst the other one is still working, fAg breaks, coffe breaks except lunch breaks which i think is important so we both stop.

Jeff, at the moment I still do downstairs the trad way so I use the pole and my employee cleans the downstairs. Sometimes we even work as a trio, with 2 poles, one doig the back and one the front.

It's all a matter of how you organise things so that you don't waste time. So whoever is using the pole has to work quickly and get ahead to allow "dripping time" so when the other guy comes along to do the downstairs, they have stopped dripping.

I currently work with my g/f and we seem to be getting the hang of working together...she starts by decob-webbing the bottoms whilst I do the tops, once she has finished she then gets the short pole out and then starts where I started but doing the bottoms...once I am finished with the tops I then continue to do bottoms....

We run a freedom trolley and a cleantech pump box into a 250litre tank at the present...am upgrading the tank to a 650l....

But all in all we seem to be getting on despite our 'teething' problems  ;)

It is our intention that she works with me in the mornings and then she can study/train/do house work or just have an afternoon to herself. ;D

Cheers
Dave.

Thanks for the tips guy's, apart from getting use to the WFP equipment, it looks like we have to learn a complete new routine of working, but I'm sure it will all come together.

Hi Jeff

We some times work in pairs one do  the front and one the back. By the time both of you have done the tops you can start the bottoms.

I was hoping someone would come back and tell me that I should sit in the car all day, and let the wife do all the work.  ;D ;D
