Problems with my remote control
« on: May 16, 2004, 10:00:57 pm »
I've finally got everything for my trolley system that I got from peter, but now the remote will not work even though it did when it was first delivered.

Any ideas ??? ???

Have you spoken to Peter about it, I am sure he can sort things out for you

Have you replaced the battery? It might be worth investing in a spare even if this doesn't turn out to be the problem.

Open the pump box and wiggle the adaptor wire that goes into your remote box. That is what was up with mine. Sometimes it worked and then it just stopped all together. Peter sent me a new remote and it still didn't work, so it had to be the adaptor cable which peter also sent me. This worked a treat and had no problems since.

It may need to be reprogrammed to the transmitter.  When you but the receiver, every one is identical, but there are about 2 million different code variations for the transmitter (the keyfob)

Peter will have programmed your receiver to recognize your transmitter, but sometimes something happens that wipes the receiver's memory.  (Extremes of hot or cold, EMF radiation etc)

To reprogram them is a simple, 2 minute job.  Details of how to do it are on his website.

(Also, if the receiver gets wet, it will stop working instantly [voice of experience] open the case and dry it with a hairdryer on the "cool" setting, then it should be fine)
