SWIVEL YOUR HEAD !
« on: October 18, 2006, 09:01:19 pm »
As its a bit quiet.
I have been looking for a simple method of making wfp brushes swivel, well after only 8 years of pure concentrated thought, here it is- loads of experiments and devices, various sorts of brushes etc etc ....tarrahhh No expense spared.

" Take the spring out of the threaded cone adapter by squeezing it together and pulling it out ! "   ::) 8)

Then slip the cone back in the top of the unger elbow so that the cone spins inside the tube with just a bit of friction. ( you may need to do a bit of sanding if its too tight.

Obviously not for use when using hanging with your pole upside down or the brush head could drop off its too loose. !
Try it, you need a bit of an angle on the elbow though, a straight pole will not work. So you can alter the angle of the brush from the ground by just a twist of your wrist. Its handy when working to the side over conservatories etc. That'll be a pint please.    ;)

Yes I posted the Q a few weeks back, but apparently not many use it and I havent had one in my hands to try. . Maybe this is cheaper.
The top section of a [procurve doesnt fit any other pole, therefore no good for going higher unless you connect it to thwe third section Unger. Unless you can come up with a suggestion.

I thought there was a thread which said a Procurve with the top dismantled would fit an unger pole. I have been waiting for the poster ( cant remember who ) to give an update.

Twas me, it fits into the N03 section , but if you use Unger elbows this doesnt cost you a penny.

Jeff,

What if, instead of completely removing the clip, you were to drill or cut the hole in the end of the pole into a groove round the end.  Bit fidley to do but I 'll give it a try.

Do you mean to stop it falling off when upside down ?

If you have the hose taped to the elbow the hose stops the brush falling off. If thro the pole supply, ditto.

Tried your idea out today Jeff:
Not too good bloody brush nearly spun round and I couldn't get it back to horizontal.  Plus, when I took the spring out of the cone it had little shiny nobs that fell off and I lost em!
Mind you, not going to give up on the idea, must be a way of controling the brush.  As for my lost nobs................well I should ave been more carefull!!!

Whoops sorry David my numptys were welded to the spring.
If the threaded cone is too loose ( it needs to be a friction fit) try wrapping 1 or 2 turns of pvc tape round the base of the cone and push fitting in.
