I'll start you off - I use microbore, 100metres and I've just fitted schrader metal connectors (from cleantech).

(I did use an industrial "Geeka" type coupling but while they were robust they kept getting caught on corners, pots etc)

I've also fitted Peter Fogwills new autobrush valve to my brush to save on water.

microbore is the way forward, easy in easy out, easy to flick off obsticles.

Microbore, not sure about my connectors though. They are airline ones but keep poppping off when the sprung collet catches on something.
Do they make them with bayonet fittings?? dAI

I use half inch tricoflex and hozelock style fittings.  I have 50 metres on one reel and about 45 metres on another (had to shorten it after hose split).  I will go for microbore at some point but may hang on until my current hoses are knackered as I hate waste.

I use 1/2 tricloflex 50mtrs on a steel reel with gardiner pro fittings.
Also i use 30mtrs of microbore on a hoselock reel with gardiner pro fittings.

I have to say i prefer the tricloflex as i get a much better flow.

But the microbore is nice and light.

When my tricloflex wears out which is still going strong for nearly a year now, i will then get minibore hose and try that.

We use 6mm Microbore, EZ-Snap connectors and Protecta-Balls.


 After 5 years of trying different products we find the above combination works best. The connectors are very easy to use, single handed and the P-balls, stop a lot of wear and prevent unwanted uncoupling.

Have recently recieved my new set of hoses, 1x100mtr & 1x 50 meter of 8mm id (minibore) and I think it is fantastic...

Have the 100 meter on the 100psi pump box and the 50meter on the freedom trolley....no problems, even swap them about when needed....all works a treat...very impressed

The g/f hates the small schrader connectors, she has troubles joining them, other than that....I am a very happy bunny....

Thank you, Ladies and Gents,

I logged on today specifically to ask what connectors people tend to use for WFP, and this topic was near the top of the heap!

 I've only been on the pole for about 6 weeks, and I'm being driven "up the pole" by crap connectors!!

[I don't think much to the remainder of the WFP stuff on the market, either, it's a cobbled together mish mash!]

My own fault, I suppose - I bought 50 metres of 8mm hose and a reel - the hose came supplied with two pieces of 6mm dia copper pipe and two pieces of 12.5 mm bore hose.

Simple, I thought, terminate the small stuff with the big stuff and bung on a Hozelock thingy - wrong! wrong! and thrice wrong!

Fall off, drop off, blow off, call it what you will, I had the connectors part on me five times this morning, on the first job!!

If that's not bad enough, when the hoses part company, all the water  that's up the pole, descends, [sounds like the "barrel of bricks" monologue].

And having waited for the poor-flo pump to struggle it up to the brush in the first place, at least 4 minutes from bottom to top, you've then got to wait again!

So, a complete re-think, see if I can get some proper hose enlargers, that do not place a restriction in the hose, plus some decent air line couplings, or whatever, to do the connecting bit, and turn up the variable flow thing to permanently stay on "Boost" setting so that I get a constant flow, 'cos at the moment, the variable part is when it decides to vary, and that aint no good when your working 40 metres away, up some ladies back passage!!
