Hi Guys

I'm investing in a new truck system and of course with winter coming up am worried about it freezing in the depths of winter.  I know the usual method is to run a 240v cable from the van to a house but what if this is not a viable option does anyone have a workaround for this?

fill your freshwater tank with hot water on a night, this will act as a radiator.

run anti-freeze through the machine.

buy a ebascher (sp) heater.

cover everything with quilts.

Hi Mike thanks for the swift reponse tried searching for the esbacher heater no joy on the web, where would I locate these puppies?

what do you do flush the antifreeze out in the morning I take it?

eberspachers are very good but a little expensive, Mike made some excellent suggestions some of which we use, ie Old Quilt over machine, however we just use a Parafin greenhouse heater on the lowest setting, it cannot fall over becuase of the shape of the base and the flames arent naked as they are covered by metal tubes, we just make sure nothing is near by and leave it on lowest setting to just keep it above freezing.

 have a look at these  runs off deisel very efficient has a temp setting so kicks in when needed

All good stuff.  One last quick question the espbacher heater this can run off and on all night yeah???

It has 12v from the battery and a supply from the engine this I understand.  It doesn't put a drain on the battery then?

No Dean I leave the antifreeze in and use it on the first carpet of the day

I've only heard of this done, have'nt done it myself.

I have a drive so just run a powercord into the van and use a hot air blower
