Trolley Pump Problem
«
on:

Just wonder if anyone can help out here with this.On my trolley system after
I`ve been pumping out no more than say 30 or 40 liters the pump seems to
make a `shuddering` or intermitent type of noise. Its not smooth or consistent.
Because of the vibration caused it makes the pipe where it joins the coupling
leak a little bit.The battery today was on full charge and its a new battery also.
It`s a 5 amp battery thats been installed in my orginal power pack. The pump I
use is the very same as what Jeff Brimble uses. All help and advice much appreciated.

Its probably the thermal cut-out kicking in.
I use the same pump, and they are NOT rated for continuous use. (Look at the spec and you'll see that its rated for intermittent use) As the temperature of the motor rises, it has an automatic cut out that stops it overheating.
To solve this problem, use a remote control device to switch off the water supply when moving position. This will also save you about 35% of the water.
Peter fogwill supplies them.
