A la Viz. . .
If you think you might not want to be identified by your fingerprints at some time in the future, always hand rinse your scrims in boiling water - it worked for me.

If you are wfp

Rig up a drain off in your van, somewhere between your pump and hose connection, with a tap connector.  Before you reel your hose back in, switch off your pump, open the drain off which will run surplus water back into your tank through the vent, no water left in the hose = easier to wind in = no wet leg when you disconnect hose.

Make sure you empty your hoses and pump at night when frost is expected. Saves you loads of hassle trying to de ice them next morning

When urinating against a customers wall make sure that you are looking through the window of the room that the customer is in. They will not walk round the corner and catch you by surprise. (Also make sure that the window cill is above waist height.) ;D

Tosh told me to say it Ian, honest!
It's a game of three halves!

Little Known Fact No492

If you P against a wall it makes a splashy noise - but if you P on a downpipe it's silent.

I don't know if the techie-minded folk here can explain that one. Something to do with the flow following the profile of the pipe, I think.

P J,
i have just got a small system and  what you suggest seems  a good tip, what is a tap connector, and do you fit it into the hose or on the end of the hose.

Rig something like this up if you have a tank in the van.
Run a bit of pipe from your pump outlet into the end of this - then you have four outlets with taps - run your hose off one, run another back into your vent in your tank.  When you switch off your pump, just turn on the tap to your vent and the excess pressure in your hose will drain back into your tank, making it easier to wind the hose back up.

When you get caught short, cut the neck off a plastic pop bottle and use the bottle to pee in.
When you stand at the back of your van pull the doors together round you and pretend your looking for something in the back. Using this method you can take a leak even when people are quite close. Dont forget to empty it before you move off though. Dai
