I have a Ninja......cant remember weather it's 4 or 500 psi, but run it at approx 300 psi as runing at at full pressure would empty the tank rather quickly! But think that 300 psi is the optimum pressure.

It also has the steam  mate (built in) with insulated hoses.
I do not think that with the heat turned on full makes much difference than just using hot water and pure steam will not come out of the end of a 50 ft length of hose due to cooling.
Using a 25 ft length of hose the water wiil come out much hotter and steam will be produced for a short time when the machine has been sitting.

Overall, I do like this machine and I'm hard to please. It is a big big improvement on the standard 135 psi machine and shortens cleaning time so much so that I either finish earlier or do more jobs per day.

I'v had this machine for 6 months without probs, so not sure of reliability and servicing cost's, although I know that these pumps need servicing every 1000 hours (piston seals etc).

I wonder how much difference the engineering and design makes. I have owned many machines over the years and found the CFR 400 to be an excellent machine, which, although it only had a single 3 stage vac, was incredibly powerful.
My only complaint was the size of the machine.

my vote would be the scorpion power almost as good as a TM. I was almost afraid to put that in as most of this forum seems to slag off the supplier.

Mike, no-one slags off the supplier, its the in-crowd that leap to their defence if you dare to say anything slightly negative about them or their products.

I also think the blatent advertising they get through the boards is wrong,  it costs £1000's to promote a new product yet some how whenever a new product comes out from Cornwall its all over the boards like a rash!

I dont see any of this when Prochem/Chemspec/Hydramaster etc bring out any new products.

Probably get slated for this post but there you are, Iv'e said it now.

Alltec advantage for me, Very easy to get out of Van.

Can take it apart to move up and down stairs if needs be but dont have to to much as will clean wellwith extra 25ft of hose over the standard 50ft.

Vacuum is good but water pump could possibly do with more power but gives me great results.

Bonus is the 50 lites clean water tank, much better than the small Aqua 40 that I seemed to allways be filling up.

I would be good to know which one is the best if only to stop someone shelling out for a inferior/overpriced bit of kit.

However,  unless equivalent spec. models are tested side by side it will be down to wether or not you are happy with what you have bought.

If there is someone out there with the ability and time to compile a chart on reliability, performance, service we could have a JD powers survey

The BBC will do a test on Top Gear, as after Richard "hampster" Hammond got hurt they wont be allowed test anything faster than a ride on lawnmower anyway.

Like an earlier post I have a Ninja and V2 but can only get steam in fairly short bursts after it has had some time to recover.

Phil you obviosly dont read this forum then. Anything that comes from cornwall is slaked mostly by people who have never used what it is they are running down. It is a pity cause this used to be a very good forum now it just seems to be moans .

Ian I didnt start this question up, it was someone asking what everyone thought was the best porty and to that question I gave my answer. Yes if I had the money to spare I would get one but I dont so I will stick to my excel.

Mike,fully agree with you.
Any questions re machinery on this and other forums for that matter end up having a jibe at a particular supplier, why not stick to the topic in question,if you can't answer a question without somehow turning it into yet another attack on someone for no reason then don't comment at all.
For the record I currently use a Prochem and my next machine may well be something different.
It is not good for the forums image if every time we log in all we see is snidey remarks, these are unjustified and unnecessary, change the record please.
I suppose I'll be accused of being a salesman now ::)

I assume your comments are refering to me, for the record I use all Solution agents, charly pads, their in-line sprayer etc etc and I have just purchased 5L of M-power.

What I believe is wrong is the massive hype and blatent advertising that goes on on the boards, if you can't see that you are deluding yourself, maybe people are logging on and getting fed up having Solution products rammed down their throat every day.

My comments would be just the same if it was any other supplier.

I use a ninja, and touch wood I havent had any problems with it and it does a good job, I've got the external steam mate with mine which is a nice bit of kit (the built in steamate would be better though) instant controllable heat goes a long way, but if I were buying new now I would look at a lot of other machines as well, things have come on a long way since I brought mine and there are some really nice portables about now,as well as some good entry level truckmounts (both new and second hand) appearing at better prices than they used to, horses for courses I suppose, you gets what you pays for, Andy

Interesting comment from Fin. The Cross American, or Recoil, from Ed Valentine might appear to be new to some, in its UK version, but it's been around for some time with the " turbo " option.

I owned a Stimvak a few years ago which I always felt could be upgraded along similar lines, but possibly the market in the UK is too small for anyone to take the gamble, so we get a series of imports, which are rebadged and doubled in price.

I've also been following the advances, in o/p machines for some time, and wondered when someone would bring them into the UK.

I experimented with the little Oreck, but it's just a toy

I used an op machine at a demo recently and was impressed. Takes a little getting used too, but results are a step up from a normal rotary and the type of pads are different and easier to use. You can also use glides with them (not wand glides).

Phil,don't make assumptions m8.
My comments were not aimed at anyone in particular, but simply based on what I have seen all over this board and others.
I can't help feeling a member is being headhunted and victimised and somehow almost any post on any subject sooner or later gets turned around and used against that member,it is spoiling the image of the forum.

On the subject of selling on Ebay, other suppliers have been doing it for ages,I cannot see any posts condemning them for selling to the public.
Most suppliers would also sell to the general public, business is business.
Just to clarify Phil, please don't take any of my comments personally.

the best portie is the one which you can change the pump or vac on the job in less than 15mins

so I'd go with the old Prochem Cheyanne.

the Kleenrite machine that Paul Mentioned is a terrible machine to work on, because everything is squeezed into such a tight space you can't get to the fixing bolts without having 20inch long fingers. and the the pump!!!! try changing that in a hurry!  I think the whole machine was molded around the motor.

the pressure regulator is impossible to get out without destroying the fixings.

but when it working its an excellent machine
