Window Cleaning booklet for the newbies!
« on: September 30, 2006, 12:22:36 am »
Hi All,

I have been window clening for nearly 20 years and have been on this forum for about 2 years.

Until I joined this forum I never thought much about window cleaning, never realy took it too seriosly.

In the past 2 years I have experienced vast change in my job.  From pottering along as a traditional window cleaner to employing staff, astonomical Employers Insurance, Ladder Regs to WFP!

I have listened to other window cleaners opinions about all the above and have gained a great respect for all of you.

Just lately I have noticed a few New Lads on the forum.  They seem to be a bit lost in there new trade (just as I was when I first started).  I think us "Old Hands" should try to help the new lads the best we can.  With that in mind I am writing a booklet on Window Cleaning.  I am trying to keep it simple and to the point so as to help the new lads not confuse them even more.  If any of you fellow "Old Hands" would like to conribute anything please E-Mail me at:
david@salkeld95.freeserve.co.uk

Thanks

David

Sounds a great idea but surely all the info they need they will get on here.
What about a video or dvd showing technique.

Or uploading it onto here.

I have recently done a DVD showing various techniques for window cleaning.
I'll be releasing it shortly. Watch this space!

The content covers equipment, basic techniques, advanced techniques, the difference in time saved using the advanced techniques and some general advice regarding being organised, keeping motivated etc. etc.

Anyone interested can contact me at windows2clean@yahoo.co.uk

PS. David,

I think its a great idea to do a booklet. As has been said a lot of the info is already on here. You could compile it into some kind easy to read order in a booklet.
I'd be interested in a copy if you did.

I have doubts about robbery. Whats to stop someone buying the book copying it and re writing then re publishing it. Or sending it as an ebook.
I think Davids post was asking for help to write it. Have you had many replies to your email request David ?

I think jeff has it right with an ebook.
Maybe it can be used within this forum.

Iff and when I write the booklett I'm not fussy about making money out of it, I'm a proffessional Window Cleaner not a writer!

Very good idea people could post ideas to be included and the most important could be included.
