Footwear

I must have been through about 5 different pairs of trainers in the last 11 months of window cleaning. Mainly due to the soles peeling away from the base of the trainer. Either that or the part which is attatched to the front of the trainer peels off leaving you with damp toes all day long.  :'(

I wear trainers instead of regular work boots/shoes because of comfortability. I like to be able to feel exactly where my footing is on the rung of the ladder and think the thickness of the soles in workwear is generally too much to allow this.

Has anybody found the ideal pair of trainers/shoes/ boots that are comfortable and durable, which won't fall apart after a couple of months w/c ing.

Regards,
Lance

Timberland hiking boots, they are flexible and waterproof and are going into their third winter this year , cheap sneakers in the summer due to the heat over here and we do mostly chair work in the summer

Leather hiking boot - Comfortable, good ankle protection & waterproof (providing you keep them polished!).  They also seem to have a softer and more flexible sole (rubber) compared with the hard soles that you find on safety boots.

Try Millets or Blacks.

Just found these - not leather but light & waterproof!

You can get them in gortex as well for the winter.

The nike waffle pattented sole realy grips well.

i use shoes for crews you can find them on the internet , their boots last me about three years all padded very very light and comfortable and their grips on the sole are unbelievable on slippery surfaces, having said that ,the grips dont hinder you when descending down a ladder which i have found with other brands. give them i try i promise you wont be disapointed.

I use Meindl shoes and boots. They are goretex and have excellent grip and feel. They are not cheap though. £79.99 for trainers and £99.99 for boots. but I think they are worth it.
All purchased from Blacks. You can buy online and they deliver to your door for you.
