Backing George to CD
« on: September 29, 2006, 10:58:26 am »
Anyone help please.
I have always backed George up daily to floppy.
My floppy drive has buggered up so I just been and bought some CDRW discs.
I have backed up all my leaflet templates etc to the cd so there are no probs there.
The cd still has about 680mb spare.
When I try to backup George it says the selected drive doesnt have enough space.
Jees it only needs 250kb .
Help ???

I haven't got George yet so dont know definately but if you can back up to floppy then you ought to be able to back up to CD.

You also dont need to get CDRW discs as plain CDR discs will do as long as you set as "Multisession" in the options (Nero) you can then just add and add till the disc is full.

Hi Petski2
Yor best bet is to pay for the internet backup service from George - only about £12 per year and worth every penny.

Hi Pete

You have eMailed me 16 times - first time was May 2004 and the last was May 2005.

I always answer my eMails - I obviously didn't receive yours.

Sorry - I'm just back from the pub - I didn't mean to offend you...

Don't knock 'George', Paul does a good job trying to answer all emails and solving other peoples problems. I was grateful to Paul for helping me once when I desperately needed it! You have to go a long way to beat 'George and the support help that's offered!

Hey
It does not matter if you back up on cdr or cdrw as one can be written over cdrw, the other can not cdr.
Just make sure you get the right disks to record on.
The ones your pc reads thats plus or minus not all cd or dvd roms read the same disks.

Easyclean, please read posts correctly before making comments. ::)
I didnt knock George (or Paul).
I simply asked a question to solve a problem I had.
I then mentioned that I hadnt recieved replies from the last 3 emails but also pointed out that maybe he hadnt recieved them.
Or maybe you just came in from the pub as well.LOL  ;D

Reah,I obviously didnt explain correctly.
I am a trained programmer so I know a lot about computers.
Whether I have a cdr or a cdrw in the drive makes no difference.
The backup works fine with floppy or hard disk.
All other programs on my pc save files to the same cd without any problems.
Therefore the drive or the disc arent a problem.
It is some setting in George.
Thanks
