could any one tell me how to get good results using a extending pole.I mean the ones that you put your applicator onto the end and wash the window and then do the same with your squeegee and remove the water. I just did a conservetory roof for a customer because they asked me to and this was the only way i could see to do it as i could not rest ladders against the guttering that went alround the edge.It was a glass roof and my results were terrible!!! i was so embarresed as it left big streaks and smears all down the window. :-[

Its a very difficult thing to explain without showing somebody, the short answer is that whichever side of your squeegee is in the dry should be slightly lower than the side thats in the wet and practice practice practice, also trying to do a conservatory roof which is at a tough angle is hard to do at the best of times ,try poling it off a step ladder which should make the angle a little better and give you a better look at what you are doing

Glimmer,

Just out of interest, could you describe the conservatory roof (eg, how many glass panells; were any of them an inverted 'V' shape, etc) and how much did you charge?

With first cleans or dirty areas I always use a porcupine sleeve on the applicator,
also a ledge eze squeegee from ettore. Sometimes in awkward areas I also use the angled crank to reach them.
Hope this helps
