Pre Filter Flush?
«
on:
September 28, 2006, 09:06:09 am »
I have a Pentair RO with 10" Pre Filters.
I am changing the pre filters for the first time. Should they be flushed through to waste for a while before connecting to the RO or will it be OK to flush through to waste via the RO?
Great Forum very helpful.
kind regards

Flush throught the waste will be fine.
But dont forget to flush the R/o on a regular basis.

10 mins every 4 hours is enough flushing. If your new filter are GAC as opposed to Block carbon the give them a flush first. GAC has fine carbon which washes out, which your membrane will then have to get rid of.
