Yes it does happen, but its unusual enough to become a funny story.
In general you are what you appear to be. Not only in this business but in life.
I suggest you should overplay the image card for real success. There are some very smart vans appearing and talk of uniforms and workwear would have been unheard of a couple of years ago.
Look to the States for real professionalism, it may seem corny but it works and works well.

Mal

May I respectfully suggest that you go on the courses and I think you will find that you will find your own niche in the market pricewise.

There will be other cleaners there and as much may be learned from talking to them as from the actual courses which are both excellent by the way

Have fun

I suppose that this subject has almost exhausted itself with all the good information that everyone has given.

I would just add the following:

A cheap price can be equally off putting the the higher end of the market, as a high price is to the lower end of the market!

Where do you want to work?

A very good point and what better to end on

HOW MANY JOBS HAVE BEEN LOST BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO CHEAP?

Now that is something to think about, that opens up a whole new can of worms ???.
