Haha, know i mastered the basics years ago Steven! Mine was also posted as constructive criticism! If you would like to post me more of the "knowledge of carpet fitting" then i will give it a look. If you want to see me at work then pay me a days wages and ill visit you and take on what you do in a day. I will come alone and you can watch? Your call?

I don't think so. I'm part of team of 12 fitters who know the right and wrong ways to install all types of domestic and commercial flooring. We work in London for a prestigious store who relies on quality and service and that's just what we provide.

Anyway enough said, as long as members are mindful of the dangers that can occur when taking away stair carpeting and not putting them back properly. Be careful and don't be led or listen to misleading advice on here from part qualified individuals.

The same can be said about taking advice from certain cc's. Be very weary and weed out the good from the bad.

Hi Damian and Steven,

I'm sure every carpet fitter has his or her own ways of doing things. As long as the customer is happy and you're happy with a job well done at the end of the day you get paid thats all that matters.

The same with any other service.

Good on you both for standing your ground.

Could be a new telly program - 'professionals stand off' where 2 or more professionals in their respective trade compete against the clock at a given task!

I'm wasted cleaning carpets :D

Kind regards,
Jason.

Having lifted hundreds of carpets from damaged buidings, they all get removed the same way.............. nwith a stanley knie ,regardless of how much handbags at 10 paces went off with the fitters.   There are 20 right ways and 200 wrong ways to fit any carpet.

This may be so however we fit carpets the industry standard way and the way approved by the Association of Professional Carpet Fitters.
