Truck Mounts - How Much Water Per Day?
« on: August 28, 2006, 11:53:15 pm »
Hi,

Just a quick query...

All you truck mount users... How much water do you normally get through in a days work?

Thanks,
Andy

Andy, to vague a question as too many variables. Different psi's, different volumes of water which is most important, carpet or furniture or tiles at 2000 psi, restoration clean, maintenance clean, poly carpet, £500 a yard carpet etcetera etcetera. Best, Dave.

Ok, I have two 50 gallon tanks plummed in. Mostly though you can connect to the house supply if you need too. On small jobs it is ni.ce not to have to connect though, best, Dave

Using a Prochem Everest HP. We do between 4 and 6 houses per day. Usually 3 bedrooms. In these circumstances we recover between 100 and 150 gal per day.

With office jobs, 2 operators, 500 - 600psi, we seem to stop the machine to empty recovery tank (100gal) every 45 mins although its not always completely full.

Hope this helps

We carry a 400 litre tank. With the Prowler this lasts 1-2 days depending on workload. And no waste tank to empty.

You could be right, and i always thought as mine as a 60 gallon. It's got the cut out for the fuel tank.

At 227 litres

227 litres x 1000 to give mililitres  = 227000 ml's

Divide this by a pint which is 568ml =   399.65 pints

Then divide by 8 (8 pints = 1 gallon)  to give 49.96 gallons

Truck mounts seem a good idea in terms of faster setup times etc. and I have been looking at the initial costs.

Has anyone got a clear idea of the payload on their van when it is fuly loaded with unit, water, tools, hoses chemicals etc.? :-\

If you have a spare hour or so to go over the three summons I collected in the same day for being over wieght in my Reno Master when I had a Boxxer 421.
The actual carring weight is not always the gross weight.
If the van says its carring capacity is 1000kg and gross weight is 2800kgs 9 out of 10 times you will find it will only carry 850kgs.
My Fiat Scudo says in the sales blurb it carries 920kgs but in fact it will only carry 675kg! What they don't tell you is kerb side weight is empty. When I say empty I mean no oil, petrol, spare wheel, radio, even water in the radiator! and some no passenger seat.
So if you think you can stuff max carring weight in the back of your van think again.
Take into account all the items I have listed then work out whats left.

Incidently I have a Panther Pro 20 with a 50 gal water tank in my Scudo.

Hope this is of help

The gross vehicle weight includes the weight of the driver and all passengers as well as anything on board.

Hey Dave, when I have been stopped before I was told the passengers didnt count and accordingly they were out of the vehicle when it was weighed. They also took into account the supposed weight of a full fuel tank too which was taken off of the over all weight. This was here in England not back in the states. Best, Dave.
