Go on!! Be a devil give em a go!!!

After 23 years in the business I have changed entirely to ms. The results are spectacular. We clean a lot of rental properties and they come up a treat. Hot water not required, saves hours.

What type of MS do you use. I do alot of rented properties to and am struggling with Ultimate Master on cheap Berber style carpets, especially walk ways. Even when I use powerful presprays.

Thanks

Hi guys

I've switched to MS for pre-spray (currently using Craftex Microsplit but I'm trying others as well) and Chemspec DFC 105 extraction agent. The combination works very well on most carpets, but I keep stronger treatments in stock for heavily soiled carpets.

My issue is one of smell (the carpets, not me). Good old fashioned treatments are scented, which some clients love and some hate, but chemical scents go against the ethos of "friendly" cleaning.

How do I suppress the "woolly sheep" smell?

Thanks for your advice.

Nick

Hi Guys,

Prochem Pureclean is MS without the water (or the bull ;))

I have found it effective on lightly soiled carpets and a good tank booster on dirtier jobs.

Cheers

I use the Cornish Solution. Mix it about 10-1 and use about 5 lt dilute on a large 4 bed house.

Berber carpets are a problem because the brushing won't penetrate the pile as well as with cut pile.

I have done a load of loop pile that is in an office that was built as a house so the builder put the usual loop in.

I put ms in the tank, today I used 1.5 lt in 40 lt of hot water. I may have used a lot more ms than usual but no prespray or brushing so its fairly quick. On the dirty bits I move the tool slower so that it puts a fair bit down and has time to vac the excess out. Normally on loop tile carpet in offices I use Charly Pads but this today would not have stood up to it being domestic carpet.

If you have a mc that will spray at 200 psi that even better.

Microsplitters need to be adequately agitated for them to work. It is only the agitation which actually removes the dirt from the fibres. Spraying on and extracting off will not work.

I've seen it suggested, that the pressure from the wand, can adequately aggitate the carpet fibres and release the soiling.

My personal experience, has been, prespraying with m/s, followed by extraction with u/m in the tank, gives a good result.

I look forward to trying out Nemesis and am considering buying a product from the US which we used in the past.

You should really experiment and find out what suites your particular approach. No two of us, will tackle the job in exactly the same way.

Only ever used em once, and that was on upholstery. I wasnt that impressed but maybe I didn't agitate for that bit longer, which has been suggested you need to do with MS. I just dont fancy the idea of over agitating - especially on worn areas!

Might try them again oe of these days....

spindle, I think you may have mis read some post!!

dont use hot water :-\  I would have thought they might have mentioned that they can be used with cold water, but this is not an essential, as far as I am aware :)

I use M/S , I happy , I use formula 90 in conjuction on badly soiled carpets , and have recently been trying nemesis, and have been impressed . just cant get used to the idea of diluting at 100 to 1  ;)
with nemesis , as it does go along way at that ratio. but it works
 Geoff.
who ever said dont knock before u try ,i never tried dog crap but i know i wouldnt like  haha

Me too diluted it 50 to one first time " just to make sure" it work a treat but 100 to 1 is the same  so will save a few bob in future. It makes a great leave behind spotter too.
