SLOPPY WINDOW CLEANER LOST OUT THIS TIME
« on: August 26, 2006, 09:56:03 pm »
Hi all,
you know im new so i cant get into any of the arguements on here you guys have (fun arguements :D).. regarding wfp and trad.
..... but i was out leaflet dropping, and a guy ran after me and asked how much to clean his windows, i told him the price and he accepted, as i wrote it in the diary, i thanked him and headed off, he then called me back and said..." oh i forgot to ask, you had better be one of those proper window cleaners and not one of those who sprays my windows with a long pole "

I told him i dont use that as yet, and that i clean them in the traditional way, he said "good because i will be ringing my present cleaner tonight to tell him i wont be using him again," as he is fed up of having to clean dirty sills and dripping water after he has done......!

i felt awful at that moment, as i had gained a call at another w/c,s expense, and i never do that, what should i  do?... i would not have taken it in the first place had i known what was coming.

gary.

HI Gary,

Take the job and don't worry about it.

The fact that whoever did the job previously didn't do a thorough job is their fault.

Its is the same no matter how you clean the windows, if you are traditional or WFP, either way if you do a bad job you will get the boot.

I am WFP and I also do the sills, it takes seconds and anyone who doesn't bother is a fool to themselves.

Take the job and good luck to you.

Best wishes,

So should the heading of this thread be "SLOPPY WINDOW CLEANER LOST OUT THIS TIME?"
It's a game of three halves!

Hi Dave,

It was directed at WFP specifically so I thought as it was the operator and not the equipment it would be best to change.

Hi all
I have been cleaning windows now for 3 months and getting very good comments about all the detailing i am doing.
This month i have had 9 more customers calling me and asking please will i do theirs.
I priced up the jobs and also i was more expensive than the previous cleaner.
The reason they do not want the previous cleaner is because of him using WFP system.
I even told them that the method they was using is better and safer.

The reason this worries me is because 9 lost customers due to wfp is a concern.
Also i have just invested in a WFP Freedom Trolley.

Also gazza i have brought 2 sets of new 3 mtr ladders from Global Ladders, I will let you have a set for cost @ £70 if you want (New)

Dave,

If you are traditional and leave marks and smears everywhere, don't wipe the sills and miss windows the next guy to come along will take the work, regardless of if he is Traditional or WFP.

The problem is not the system you use but how you use it.

However you clean the window is immaterial, as long as you take your time and do a thorough job you will not lose any customers through bad work.

In the last 6 months I have steadily converted 600 customers over to WFP and lost none, I do have about 6 that want us to carry on with traditional but to be honest that is because the glass just isn't compatible with WFP, it happens.

When you use your trolleyt system, take ya time and be thorough, you won't have any problems.

Best wishes,

have began wfp last few week all ok . but last week i cleaned wfp on a round predominately asian customers i found that on collecting several had a moan and even refused to pay . why? i dont know as the windows were as clean as the other 400 or so houses ive already done and been paid for . i was over the moon they refused to pay cause  now i can tell them "refuse to pay then i refuse to clean " i hated the job as it was four storey on the side of the steepest hill around (hence wfp) . i would be a bit peaved if another cleaner came about but id probably laugh at him as he now has to put up with the awkward customer .i suggest do the job but ensure you get paid and you havent just picked up a customer who, will just mess you about or dump you when you go wfp cause by the statement he gave you sounds like so .
