booties
« on: August 17, 2006, 12:55:30 pm »
I  wear 'booties' on every job, I would never walk into a customers house with out first putting on a pair.

some people don't like them, perhaps  because they can't be bothered to take their shoes on & off as the go in & out of the house, or are afraid of slipping on a wet floor.

so I would like to tell you how I do it, it makes life a lot easier ;)

as I get to the first job of the morning I slip on my 'special' booties, they then stay on all day until I get home. Over these I wear slip on shoes. as I walk in & out of the house I can easily slip them on  & Off, all it takes is a flip of my foot and they come off.

the  same when i do quotes, as the customer opens the door I introduce myself and then flip of my shoes, the customer always comments on my 'frog-feet' ( because they are green)

my special booties have a non-slip coating, and have lasted over 6ths.

they are a really good idea.

That's a good idea.

I suspect any resistance was more to do with the colour than the booties themselves.

I like the disposable jobbies. I now make a big deal out of putting them on. After initial giggles from most clients it sinks in deeper and reinforces your professional approach. However I admit they are a pain if you have a trip to the van.

they do look a bit funny but in the photo I'm lifting my trousers up so you can see them but in reality you only get a glimpse of green.

Jai,

"i couldnt be bothered my self "

and in that sentence lies the biggest problem with most carpet cleaners, and is what separates the ordinary carpet cleaners from the professionals ;) ;)

My Dog makes excellent disposable jobbies! ;D ;D ;D

Do you mean disposable overshoes Mike? ;)

Seriously though they're a great idea I use the blue disposable ones.

adam. I used to wear the disposable ones but they tear within a couple of hours, these last for ever and are totally non-slip.

put what I'm trying to put across with this post is the entire concept of the booties and the slip on shoes.

most people won't get it  until they try it.

I find they only tear if you nip to the van in them. ;)

i couldn't "be bothered" for about ten years ::)  but now i use the blue disposable ones all the time,  it's actually a good conversation piece and i also leave a couple pairs with the customer,  which normally secures me a place in their phone book ;D

God there horrible mike. I would rather eat food from bins or clean the path of our city with my tongue than wear them.
I would rather make love to cow, dog, sheep, fish, cat or you than wear them.

I would rather paint the QE2 with my eye brow or run a cheese grate against my delicate parts.

I would even spend a night with Dawn French. Now dip me in choclate a throw me to the lesbians!

I use the Blue Dispoables too ( or take my shoes off) but the Shreck boots are a work of pure genius!

If they don't remember you they must have been in a coma!

laugh all you want, genius is never recognised in its own lifetime :) :)

give it a year and everyone will be wearing them, and I've bought the last 20,000 from the wholesaler, I'll make a fortune :D :D
