Hi guys im looking into a van mounted wfp system and have a few questions. Firstly i have found out im in a very hard water area. Second i have not really got any storage for a water butt to make pure water from home so i would like a system i can fill from the tap straight to the van either at home or the customers, is this a di system?? Thirdly, how long would it take to fill a 650 lire tank straight from the tap to the van?Final question, what do you guys think is the most reasonably priced system on the market, ie looks, realiabilty and service back up?? If anyone can help i would be most grateful.

Why not just buy pure water from someone who sells to WFP window cleaners? You should pay about £25 + vat for 650 litres. If you only use a DI tank in a hard water area, your resin will soon need replacing - about £65 for 25kg.

I didnt realise you could buy pure water from wfp suppliers. That sounds very cheap??

Aquatic Centres sometimes sell RO water.

The one near me Charges £3.00 for 25 lires though.

They did tell me that they would give me a different price if i bought a bulk load though.

I only enquired incase my system broke down for some reason.

get an ro van system .
i dont know what the point of making the water and then pumping it into your van is all about.
i have a brodex system ,works well ,has a rapid fill ,so you can fill as you use it if your on a big job .i dont know how long it takes to fill as i plug it in at night and its ready in the morn.they have a web as ionics,pure o2(offshoot of ionics i think)stream ,omnipole.concepte2o.

Yes thats the sort of system im talking about. Can you keep the van locked while you leave it to fill?? How often do you have to keep replacing the filters??

it is possible to make a van mounted system with an RO onboard and fill the tank directly (we have done a few) it is recommended to use the larger (and more expensive) 40" membranes, and this way your tank will be full every morning. - these membranes are also extremely robust, giving out (usually) better quality water, meaning the extra cost is soaked up by the fact that you don't use as much Di resin (as i said, usually, as with everything there is the odd strange one)

it also means if you have a huge job to do, you can plug in and be refilling the tank as you work, making your tank effectively infinate in size.

Cut a caravan accessory point into the side of the van (BE CAREFULL !!) and this way the van can remain locked up. When doing this, we usually fit an outlet into the access point as well, allowing you to lock the van up when out on the job as well - very handy.

This is how I fill 2 of my vans. We have RO system inside the vehicle (www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk) They fill up overnight (650 liter tanks) and in the morning are ready for work. Average fill time 12/15 hours which means for us, finish at 5pm start at 8am.

We run the RO into a small DI vessel into the tank, in the morning switch the hose so that it runs from the tank into the pump into the same DI vessel out to the pole 000TDS everytime. Change the resin approx 1 x 6 months.

If we get caught we static fill using the DI cylinder the amount of water we need, only happened twice on a big job.
