im booked in for a hip replacement on 10th april, just wondering if anyone else has had one done
im 63 i think im quite fit as in i put in a shift of approx seven hours a day mon to fri ,im 100 % waterfed no ladders.
if youve had a hip replacement how did you find it ? how long was the down time not being able to work ?
im looking as six weeks off prior to returning to work is that realistic ?

My uncle who is 78 next week has had both his hips done. First one was November last year and second one 3 weeks ago. He knows someone in the know and got both done free in a private hospital. Three weeks in he's mowing lawns, driving his van etc he's still on painkillers but he's a new man.

Don't worry fella 👍
We look at them, they look through them.

Good luck to him,I’ve also been referred to a private hospital so I feel quite lucky

I had one Oct 2018,it was is fantastic.

I was in so much pain before I had it done

I went back to work after 13 days,
they said to keep active,so i started back at work... just very steady and increased gradually
They say it takes 6 weeks, but see how you feel day by day.I think youll find your back to normal quicker than that
Ive always been active, go running and to the gym etc,so maybe that helped
Dont hesitate or worry about it,they are great
Best wishes
