Price rise time
« on: March 23, 2025, 05:20:43 pm »
Its that time of year again when the nervous texts go out and you have thoughts of half your round leaving.  ;D

Got quite few big uns that need a big rise, doubt they i will keep them, then its going to be a blanket increase across the rest.

Forgot who i put up last year to be fair and i cba to work it out so they can all have a quid rise

I have already printed price increase letters ready to go. All I have to do is write the new price in the blank space and post when cleaning their windows. I'm putting 70% of my prices up this year. They come into affect from their next clean which will be April/May time. Most a quid or two, some a fiver. Take it or leave it.
price higher/work harder!

I agree Stoots/Daz.

Especially after the high inflation of 2/3 years ago. And state pension goes up in April too.

I do mine by checking when they last had one every day I work. If the price is mediocre then after 2 years up it goes.

No one gets past three years.

I’ve changed price increase frequency from every 3 years to every 2 years. I’ve increased around half of mine in the last month, the other half will get a price increase next year, 2 cancellations so far, I can live with that.

I do mine via text local daz via cleaner planner.

It's costs a few quid in text messages but you can literally text your entire round in 1 click if you wanted to.

I've text 50 last night with a £1 increase. I'm so tempted to go for £2 each but I'm scared  ;D

I just write the new price on the card, I’ve never had one customer complain or question.  ;D

Every year or two I just add a pound.

In the last few years I have had one customer in early 2024  out of 100's  query a £30.00 to £33.00 increase after three years.  By email.

I wrote back explaining that inflation and state pensions had increased by a little over 20% in the same period and thought my price increase was reasonable and hoped he would agree.

He hasn't cancelled yet ...

I’m constantly reviewing and increasing prices. Most of my work is commercial so some have had price increases of £20-£50. One had a £100 increase last week and no resistance. Domestics have had £2-£5 increases and again no resistance.

If your putting a £100 price rise in then it'll be a big hit if they cancel as presumably it's a high paying job...its a fine line between a fair price and just being greedy

Not being greedy at all Daz. This particular job hasn’t had a price increase in 4 years and is now underpriced.
There’s no difference in putting a £400 job up £100 to putting 10x £40 jobs up £10 each Daz.

Personally I think it's a ridiculously high price rise and not something I would do. Good luck with keeping the job!👍

You never put a £20 domestic up by £5 Daz? It’s a 25% price rise, exactly the same thing.

New price has been accepted without any resistance. In fact I was asked by the facilities manager earlier in the year if my price will be increasing  anytime soon.

Your bolder than me! Most of mine are going up a quid or two, some £3 and the odd fiver on jobs I don't care if I lose...
