Ez-snap fitting
« on: March 01, 2025, 08:50:31 am »
I run hoseless with 2 reels. One ez-snap fitting refuses to close and the other has been going for years. Changed the one that wasn't closing and even replaced the back to tank fitting. Yesterday i forgot it was left open as I couldn't snap it on the back to tank fitting and turned on both reels and flooded the back of van till I got to first job.

So decided to find out what was going wrong when I changed it again. Turns out its the lower part of the fitting which has plenty of limescale on it. Because of the plastic cover I can't get WD40 in to that part. In future I will need to remove the cover and get WD40 or Plusgas into it to keep it working.

After years of this problem I have found a simple solution, incase anyone else comes across this nightmare.

I often wd40 mine as they stick.

They are designed for airlines though not water.

Sometimes they don't easy-snap do they? Making sure the water pressure is on when I connect sometimes helps.
It's a game of three halves!

Do you get limescale with pure water ?
Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

It looks like limescale but whatever it is, it stops then working. Good spray keeps them nice and clean.
