The cold now doing its rounds
« on: February 09, 2025, 09:49:39 am »
All ready to have a nice time catching with my window cleaning. Everything going well, felt like I had won the lottery when my van got another year Mot then I got that terrible cold that's going about. It went right into my chest and nose running all day.
If anyone gets it then all one can do is rest and take paracetamol.

I prefer to carry on working with a cold. I'd argue it's better for you. I ease up on the gym sessions though and give them a miss as it just makes it last longer. Plus I don't think its fair on other gym goers.

Right I better clear this up, it's not a cold I've got, I wouldn't stop for a cold, I'm 90% sure it's RSV I have, first four days temperature 40 c, no food  and chest full of fluid, I'm about to go out and do a few a jobs but cant stop coughing and sweating :o, looks like daughter has caught it now, apparently there's loads of people in hospital with it

I'm with Daz on this.....I would rather be doing something to take my mind off it plus lots of fresh air rather then central heated living room.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Anyone can work with a cold, but I think these guys have had flu. I had it a couple of months ago and was bad. Had to take two days off and then went back to work for short stints for a few days whilst fully recovering.

Its not the cold, more like covid 2. Old woman next to me passed away with it. You have no energy and the chest cough is terrible. I like working but I realise that I need to rest so been in my bed for 3 days. Hopefully back on the glass tomorrow and looking forward to it.

You did say “a terrible cold” in your opening post 😤

I've worked with covid twice now even with a high temperature. It's a bonus in winter as the fresh air helps IMO....

I did have proper old skool flu around 15 years ago and it totally floored me for 5 days! I could barely climb out of bed nevermind anything else.....this was  the variant of the 1918 epidemic that killed mostly people under 40.....
