Van insurance time again
« on: January 24, 2025, 04:43:30 pm »
Afternoon All

Just had my renewal quote  - 18% increase on last year. :o

Was thinking - what if I put all my prices up
18%
Somehow I don’t think it would wash with many.

Anyhow. Anyone had success with renewal quotes. Yes I have declared I carry a tank as a modification.

We've been with A-Plan which is now Howdens for 15 plus years . I've just renewed our Dispatch at a cost of £460 I did try others including Alexander Swann but they couldn't get anywhere near it.

That is quite a bit cheaper than mine.
I was quoted 575 by Adrian Flux.

Shows it is worth shopping around.

Thanks

What does 18% increase in insurance put on your annual costs? £100.00?

Why are you concerned about that? It’s 40p a day.

Ok Slacky
Put 18% on all your prices - see what happens.

Last year's renewal was up from £490 to £560.
I ran quotes on three of the comparison sites and the best price I found was again £490.

I went back to my original company and asked them if they could match it and they did.

Works out around £250 for each truck.

You have to swap your insurance every year to get the best deal or get a cheaper quote and go back to your original insurer and see if they'll match it or beat it......

It's how insurance works.....
price higher/work harder!

My prediction is you won't be doing any cleaning in Canada as a form of self employment. You'll be going live on the Comedy circuit.
