Get Ionic or Pure2o (a brand of Ionic).

They’re top-notch systems and superb quality. I’ve had mine for nearly 8 years, and just had it moved from my old van into a new van.

Bear in mind that insurers are starting to refuse cover for vans with non crash tested systems in them. See that other thread, the one that got that winpro fella all hot and bothered.

You could spend a whole load of cash and then find it’s a useless system because you can’t get motor insurance to drive it!

Here's my system- tank, pump, controller and 2 x Di vessels. About a grand all in, and barely missed a beat in over 20 years!

Blimey !!
I guess everybody is running around in a 20 year old berlingo with an ibc strapped down in the back then!
My budget is £25000 for van and system. It won’t be a new van just one that fingers crossed won’t give me any grief for years to come.
I’m currently running two old vans , manual reels and cold water. It’s done me proud but the vans are costing me on average £2000 a year to keep on the road.  My wife runs one of the vans and she will be reducing her hours soon and working with me so it makes good sense to have a nice new van for us both with all the mod cons .  It’s tax deductible too obviously
I posted on this group and not one of the others ( no names mentioned) because I thought there was more experienced windies on here and over the years I’ve picked up a lot of knowledge. Who’d have thought just asking for a good system supplier would generate so much crap!
Anyways thanks for those who posted serious reply’s . I’m edging towards grippa and pure freedom so will see what the quotes come back like
Peace

Knock yaself out Richard. At the end of the day, all you require is to get pure water to the brush. It can cost 1k or 20k, which one you choose is entirely your thing! As long as you're happy with what you got and what you spend, who cares?👍

We've been using The Cleaning Warehouse in Wolverhampton for almost 20 years without any issues. In that time we've bought three van mounted systems fitted by them plus other bits and pieces but not poles we use Gardiners mainly for those. Our two vans are a 11 plate Dispatch with 164,000 on clock and a 11 plate Partner with similar miles. Both vans serviced often.

In my view turning up in a brand new van tells a story that the person charges too much for his service. Just my opinion guys.

Remember if you go for a pure freedom hot system  they don't integrate into vans diesel tank. It's a separate tank in the back.
price higher/work harder!

Personally I think the tanks Grippa fit are better. I think Pure Freedom just fit Wydale tanks, I don't think they are cheap either.
Grippa  also have inlet/outlet ports fitted to their tanks which give option for flexibility if you want to change anything in future.

Im just utterly gobsmacked that anyone would consider spending  38.5 k thats  45k +  incl vat on a system  :o.  in the real world, not the CIU willy waving world, a  hell of alot of wc wont get anywhere near  that amount  of money in terms of turnover in a year! Back in the day when the wahd came in, van systems were considered the  last resort, only for people who didn't have access to a garage or shed. The world of marketing by wc suppliers seems to have taken over and newbies are being lulled into sense that "sexy looking set ups" are a necessity.  45k is a big step towards moving towards somewhere that does have a garage or shed.! I went on a government hmrc business course years ago and the very 1st thing they preached was the very core principals of any business.. ie.. keep your outgoings as cheap as possible and your incomings as high as possible. No body needs to spend that sort of money on a van system even if a van system is your only option.

Have you been drinking?

The OP said 25k for van and system which I think is reasonable if your planning on being a window cleaner for quite a few years and you want a reliable van that your not changing every few years....

He can do what he wants it's his business and money!

I don't regret one bit getting a brand new van and hot system. It makes my working days easier and more comfortable. The heated drivers seat is lovely in the winter months and the hot water system🔥 and electric reel just helps my day along!🙂👍

Heated seats, hot water, fit bird, drum kit, 5* holidays, baked beans. Have I missed anything out? 😂 its every other post he puts up.

Why do you ask this in a sort of put down scenario ? You've a car and van worth more than the flat you live in.

And whats wrong with drinking ?

Alcohol is for losers......it makes you soft in the head...I'd rather gouge my own eyes out than drink again.....😆

Ahh poop it was a whim ! Didn’t think I’d have to pay for it

What i mean by that is when you buy an overpriced "system" like a grippa etc which can be £5k to £10k or more its a complete waste of money. Soon as youve bought it its value drops to a fraction of what you paid and its just overkill to pump some water to the glass when you can put a D.I.Y system together for under a grand.

Its likely once the novelty wears off you would regret it, only saying from experience ive bought things on a whim before and regretted it. I paid £29k inc vat for a van 30 months ago its valued at 12.5k now lol what a waste of 16k if i had bought one for 5k it would likely still be worth 4k.

FWIW I’ve had a Grippa system and PureFreedom.

Oliver actually came down to my place from Cambridge to Basingstoke with two other guys and fitted it at my home. Never had any problems with it.

I had a PureFreedom before the grippa and had that fitted at Grimsby. No problems there either.

I go a step further. Built my own system and put an immersion heater in.

So my van is 13 years old, bought new in 2012 and the system put in at the same time.

So my (then) 16K van is probably worth 4k? (insurance paid over 6k less than two years ago and it's now a cat S)

I guess the depreciation is now about £500 a year. The system (tank, frame pumps, battery, charging system, immersion) cost less than a grand and is still running fine now.

If/when I start getting big bills to repair I will reconsider but until then, happy days.
It's a game of three halves!

Welded, modfified and installed all the latest top secret modifications on tanks and armoured vehicles in a previous job working for the MOD.
I would begrudge paying £1-3k+ just to have some fancy bits and bobs added to my van by someone else which I could do myself in a day and that includes removing and fitting the tank, pumps, electrics and all the other little bits and bobs, madness!

Get my deferred army pension this year ("hooray") and will make do with what I got, do not wish to buy anything for my van that's flashy unless it's absolutely necessary other than regular servicing to keep it reliable.

The prices theses companies charge to fit a custom tank and accessories is taking the mickey when you consider how many working hours  it takes to customise these vans.
