DIY reel controller wiring.

Hi folks,Can anyone help with the wiring of a controller for a diy electric reel??
I've been using the little remotes as pictured but I they are temperamental at best so I wanna wire in wired controller as in the pic,but I need help with which wires go where and if I need to put a fuse/relay etc.
Or maybe someone can send a pic of the inside of a waterworks powerup junction box as I think they use the same type of controller.
Any help most appreciated.

Temperamental?
I’ve been using the little radio controllers for nearly 4 years and they work perfectly every time. You just need to change the battery in the transmitter every 9 months or so.
What do you mean by temperamental?

Those little remote switches are OK for wot they are...but I find they can have a mind of their own(especially in this cold weather)...sometimes they don't switch off on the first press etc.
I think having a wired momentary control will be a safer route long term.
Good to hear you like them tho.

I’ve just re wired my powerup but didn’t take any pics.
Basically you just need a positive and negative from reel to battery, then the positive wire has to go into your switch, and back out to your reel.
All the switch does is break a line in the positive wire.

Thanks jonny,
Was thinking it was pretty straightforward...do you remember if it has a relay fitted in the junction box? And if the switch needs it's own fuse?

Ideally add a relay as those switches can't really take the startup current on the reels. Use the cabled switches to trigger the relay to reel in. As long as you have a fuse on the supply near the battery you should be fine.
