I thought you were single ?. Have you kicked yourself out your own house to sleep in the van ?.

Why do you need to do this your system has a frost stat so it won’t freeze up

Unless you leave the end open you won't get water circulating through the reel surely.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

It’s permanently attached to a return to tank so the water will circulate when the  boiler fires up

No need at all. An oil filled radiator left on overnight next to your reel will stop it from freezing.
price higher/work harder!

I don't think it helps my membranes.

You plug the reels into a back to tank hose when not in use.

It does if you put a 16.5 tog duvet over them with the rad underneath. In the morning when I begin its nice and warm underneath. I have a king size 16.5 tog duvet at the moment over my tank but a bit short to go over my reels. The single will cover the space and will be easy to remove in the morning. 😉

Insane in the membrane.
We look at them, they look through them.

You go to great effort to keep the van warm for someone that stays at home if the temp is less than 2°c.

Have you declared the oil filled rad to your insurance company?🤔

I put a duvet over my hose reels. I also read them a story before I shut the van doors.
They work loads better in the morning, they’re so well rested.
