My location will be the main reason. I don't even lock my van at home, there's virtually zero crime where I live. Other than that, I'm 52 and the van is a 2011 Fiat Scudo worth about 3.5k.

Most of us in Cities are at a handicap straight away. I'm over 60, full no claims etc and mine is over £600. What i used to do many years ago was Insure my van from my mates address in Wales, it was something like a third of the price but they closed that loophole now.
Over here the issue isn’t so much your van being nicked, it’s don’t leave anything in it that could be smelt by a bear as a food source. Even empty coffee take-outs. I got told off a couple of times by Laura for that, not knowing it’ll encourage their hunting habits. This is what a bear will do once it’s inside your vehicle.
I live on the edge of a coucil estate but i never worry about crime. My logic is all the estate dossers will go to better areas to thieve. No one has owt worth nicking round here
Brother is a builder....bought his own council house on a fairly rough estate for a bargain and did it up.......never had his van broken into....never empties it and it's parked roadside.....and that's in about 30 years.....they don't rob from their own.
