Pump controller
« on: November 27, 2024, 03:27:34 pm »
Water stopped flowing today....went to van and controller is showing P5....it's a V16 but can't find instructions I got with it......is it knacked or repairable?
Disconnected and went straight from battery to pump but it's obviously running at full tilt.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

P5  means pressure switch activated. It's usually caused by a blockage or air getting in(check pump pre filter and connectors)or CAL and FLO are set too high. It can also be caused by a loose wire so check this too.
price higher/work harder!

Daz’s suggestion of the loose wire is my bet.
Check your connectors, fuse holder etc…

A few days ago my water wouldn't come through the brush and I realised when I last reeled it in it had a twist on it. Sometimes its a simple fix and that's when a checklist comes in handy. Saves alot of time thinking its something serious. Yesterday, one of my hose easy snap fittings wouldn't close so I had to run with the other reel. Lucky I have a two man system because after a few hours the easy snap begins to work again. It is something to do with my back to tank fitting so going to order a few today from Grippa.

To save yourself time going through your check list why not untwist the hose when reeling in?

Please see the following Youtube links for the V16 message codes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xbh9hx602Ro&t=112s

Loose wiring connections is a common reason for the controller to display PS. It does this because the loose connection creates a break in the circuit between the Pump and controller. The controller stops supplying power to prevent issues with potentially damaged cables that can heat up. One of the safety features built in to V16 controllers

Cheers Ian....changed all connections from battery to controller and controller to pump first thing and it works fine.

I had a full day on the glass and was in a rush so wasn't really concentrating. I pulled out the hose and tried to get the water to come on and then I remembered I might have twisted the hose and back to the reel and pulled out more and saw it.
Because of the weather and too much work building up, we tend to rush and make mistakes. Anyway, all went well and looking forward to tomorrow where I have another full day cleaning and gutters. Its a hard life but the money comes in handy and I can treat myself to the new battery chopsaw in the sales.
