I can't believe no ones mentioned it yet? 😂😂

Front protection system ot heaters in the van?   Or do you just put a box set on and think sod this.  😂

Oil filled radiator in van next to my hose reel overnight

Broom and ice melt grit for customers that want me to grit their driveway/path.

That's it. Business as usual.

Are you not using the frost protection system on your hot water system?

Frost protection on PF heater only protects heater, not the rest of your kit in van.

Not on the Grippatank hot water setup.  It works a treat for me.  It circulates hot water through the hoses and back to the tank.   When water temp drops to 2 degrees it kicks in for 5 mins.

Keeps everything fully defrosted.

What even all your water fed poles, brushes and pole hose? greenhouse heater on the right setting keeps EVERYTHING in the back of the van from freezing

I tried a greenhouse heater the other night. My gear was frost free but the roof of the van was frozen. I don't think it's as good as an oil filled radiator.

Inside of the roof or outside? Inside of my van roof has never been wet, plumbing in my van is very good, no leaks, rarely any leaks/water in my van.

The hose real acts as a radiator for ages after a circulation.  It was designed for that reason.

After 8 years of using this method I can confirm it works well.

Last year I bought a cheap kingsize 16.5 Tog duvet for £20 or less. I have it over my tank and hose reels and the small oil filled rad between the reels and RO. Seems to work and even keeps the warm tank still warm the next morning. Everybody who looks in the side door ask if I have a bed in the back of my van. When I reply no they come back with why do you have a duvet in the van so I have now jumped to the chase and rely the quilt is to keep my water tank warm.

Which oil filled radiator is suitable . 500 watt , 1500 or 2000. Never used one before . So no idea . I presume you just leave it on a low setting all night ?

I would go for a mid range one with a sensitive thermostat on it .

Or a fan heater.

The sensitive thermostat is the important thing.

Also a timer.
cheers old timer . Thing is , I have 2 small fan heaters . But I am paranoid about leaving them all night . Woukdnt be able to sleep . I cover the pump and reel with a sleeping bag . Works most of the time . Then in the morning put the fan Heaters in the back pointing at the pump . Usually everything is fine . The wife says im definitely not leaving any kind of Heater on all night in the back of the van . She’s scared it will set on fire . So that’s that . I’ve managed all week . The 2 nano trolleys have earned there money this week . Like she says it’s usually only a couple of weeks a year we get this crap .
