Snowed last night here, not too bad today couple of inches but its pretty much gone now. Supposed to be it for snow this week but temps are going to get below freezing rest of week.

Light dusting of snow this morning but it had melted by the time I was at my first job....

Fairly hard frost forecast overnight so oil filled radiator already on in the van.

Ice melt grit and broom too....😎👍

First use (this year) of the immersion heater tonight.

Parasene electric greenhouse heater with frost stat. I think they are discontinued now, but I bought it from B&Q about 10 years ago.

I have frost stat but I like to keep my membranes warm so I stick small oil filled rad in van overnight and during the day if continually minus. Might cost a fiver a day but I believe its well worth it. Was going to go out today but only 2 degrees and I think I may skip some cleans this month, customers will understand why.

Tried to explain why there's no point putting out the food bins to my mum. Everything in the bin is frozen to the bottom and binmen may go through the motions but nothing comes out. Hotter from Sunday so will take a break.

You live in Scotland and don’t go out when it’s colder than 2°? Do you even work between November and March?

Have to go out tomorrow with scaffold and clean some windows. Life's too short and everything is frozen so what's the point struggling to turn a coin. Better to relax save energy and get ready for another day.

Working in 2° weather is now ‘struggling to turn a coin’  ;D I’ve heard it all now.

What are you talking about! I said " what's the point struggling to turn a coin"
I have the Fire Service pension each month so I don't need to work because it pays all my monthly bills.
I only work because I enjoy it but I don't enjoy working when the ground is frozen. Today is a buying day, bought a fuse checker for the van and system and its very good.

zero this morning, waited until 2Celsius before WFP, then it rained and just carried on as only a long shower but off tomorrow, not working tomorrow with snow and ice about, day of catching up on fitting more solar panels on my garage roof.

Roof of the van inside is freezing already. -2 predicted all night. I've found a greenhouse heater in the garage and have put that in the back. Never used it before. If it's crap I'll revert to the oil filled radiator.

I was thinking today; it would be a good idea to book in less work a day during the winter. Doesn't happen like that though does it.

The trick for me is organising my work into short days all year round so my days are pretty even no matter what time of year.

Cold weather?oh well only 5 hours to do.

Hot weather? Oh well only 5 hours to do.

getting dark early in winter?oh well only 5 hours cleaning to do.

Wet weather?oh well only 5 hours to do

If you can average £50-£60 an hour then that's still at least a grand a week for 4 short days then you have a nice 3 day weekend to look forward to....

This is how I work my round throughout the 4 seasons

What's wrong with the oil filled radiator? If it does the job then it does the job....

Keep it simple
