Halloween v Christmas
« on: October 31, 2024, 10:58:27 am »
I'm starting to think Halloween is becoming just as big a pita as Xmas regards decorations. I've had two cancellations this week because of it. Halloween seems much more of an event than it used to be, you see whole houses decked out in goulish stuff. I live in a town which has a 16% Eastern European residency now and I think this may be a factor, they really love and embrace the whole Halloween  thing.

It's the kids and teens.

American import.
It's a game of three halves!

Great for the hospitality sector, another reason to hold a party. The local pub holds a Halloween party next to the fire station. A few days before a fireman had nice new fire gear, well he thought he did. Came on shift and his new gear was gone and had to wear his old stuff again. We never did know where it went to but the bar lady was dressed up as a firefighter that night. It reappeared a few days later smelling of drink and had to go in for cleaning. Around this time I kept my new ger in my locker just incase it went missing. 😂

When I was with my last girlfriend before this one(over 12 years ago now)she used to have a big parties on Halloween. I dressed up as a vampire one year and stood outside her house with a hacksaw (like a statue)then when the kids and their parents turned up I'd chase them off down the road!🤣🤣🤣☠️💀

The kids loved it! The parents not so much....some were absolutely scared to death...I stopped 2 hours later when someone called the police...🤣👍all good fun at the time!
price higher/work harder!

Another new thing up here at Halloween is tossing eggs at windows. Got called out today after one of my customers window got hit. One was definitely a ghost, two holes and a white sheet over him or her.
