I've had enough already and I've only done 2 days 8 till 1.

f*** weekends
f*** Fridays

And I'm starting to want to drop Thursdays as well.

In fact this week I will be my right elbow is f***ed, my shoulder is f***ed and I've had enough of this lark.

Seriously Adam I think you need to sell up and do something else. I don't think your cut out for window cleaning...

If your shoulder and elbow are bad now imagine what they will be like if your still window cleaning at my age?

I'm 53 in 2 weeks time with zero injury issues (and may it stay that way for many years yet)

I'm hoping I've got at least another 27 years left window cleaning then ill think about retiring fully at 80...

I know one guy still going at 80 and he keeps saying he ll retire soon but he's been saying that for years(he started window cleaning at 18)so 62 years shining!😎👍

You know what daz i dont particulary like window cleaning but i can stomach it,

what really gets me is the constant fatigue

I wake up aching, peel myself out of bed to go slog round houses all day. My wrists ache constantly from gripping and at the moment my right elbow hurts a lot. I get shoulder and neck pains at random. Then i get home and just feel drained. I go to the gym, i cycle, my diet is decent now but i still feel like ive been run over at the end of the week. I generally recover over the weekend and by monday i usuallly have the enery to do a good days work. But it feels like every day after than takes more and more out of me by the time i get to thursday im totally fed up and in a bad mood.

I dont know if its because i just try and do too much work in a day, i go flat out, start around 8 finish about 1 or 2 and aim for about 25 houses a day sometimes a bit more or less.....maybe if my prices where higher i could take more time but i always feel like im going 100mph to earn a decent crack.

You know what, I've been feeling fatigued and poope for a year now. Turns out I've got arthritis and crohns disease. I've started taking injections for the chrohns and it's the best drug for arthritis. I feel great (atm). I take my second dose tomorrow. A nurse will come to my house to oversee my injections. Go to the doctors Adam.
We look at them, they look through them.

Have you had your testosterone checked Adam?

I have mine checked every year and it's fine but a lot of guys suffer with low test these days...

price higher/work harder!

No but I don't think its that.  No problems with the old reproductive organs fortunately so I ruled that out  ;D

Honestly I just put it down to getting old and figured lower energy levels, aches and pains were just normal given the physical nature of the job.

How old are you Stoots?

I think he's around 10 years younger than me so around 42-43

I started lifting weights in the gym regularly when I hit 44 and ive never stopped since. 9 years of regular resistance training has been fantastic for my overall health and really helps with WFP IMO....

A windy up here died last week, not sure if it was self inflicted but now a void has opened up. Folk will get a shock when they get a new guy because the price will be raised by £3 at least. Talking to an old timer who said he is up to £7 a clean. I was asking about the new council houses that were built where the tenements once stood. He told me he avoids them because there is too many windows and patio doors. He is right there is 11 on the ones I clean, new guys start with the ladder and after a few months don't come back.

I'm 65 and generally work about the equivalent of twelve/thirteen six hour days a month.

I've just passed on two days a month to Dan the Man so down to ten starting November.

Plan is to drop to seven/eight days next June when my state pension is scheduled to kick in age 66.

Then longer term - if health is good enough and no shocking surprises -

Drop to 4/5 days a month by 67 and be able to stop or a light day a week by age 70 when Mrs. Gold (age 67 for her) gets her state and small private pension.

Of course it can all go breasts up especially in your sixties can't it - fingers crossed.
It's a game of three halves!

Yeah it defo helps with WFP.

Have to be careful not to overtrain with WFP and weights, but it’s much easier to WFP if you’re strong.

I’m back in the gym now, after a few years out with young kids and renovating the house. Feel way better at work now I’ve got the strength back.

I like to start early and don't take any breaks so I can finish before the first race. I'm now a part time bookie on the betting exchange. Beginning to get the hang of it but not talking alot of money. It started as an interest but if I'm not to greedy I can make a tenner per race.
