Gutter Clears
« on: June 12, 2024, 08:19:54 pm »
I'm getting calls to clear out gutters nearly every second day now. I'm not helping the issue by cleaning their windows and writing on the card I post, "U need Ur gutters cleared out £60" They then contact me and I do it the next month before I clean their windows. Did 3 clears today, tiring but money comes in handy. 😉

Maybe write 80 quid for your gutter cleans?

Decent gloves, a bucket with a hook, a long pole with a gutter cleaning attachment, a ladder stand-off; these make the job less physically demanding.  Just charge well for them.

I had a shot of a gutter-vac recently from a guy who I pass the gutter cleaning jobs I don't want.  It was okay, but I think I'll just stick to doing the simple, straightforward gutter cleans from ladders.

£60 to clear out gutters?

Didn’t you say in a post a few weeks back that window cleaning made you rich?

£60 is cheap. I usually charge £100-120 for two sides of the house. More for 4 bed houses and bigger.

Did a 4 bed farm house on Monday, £200. Did have a few small extensions, but that’s the price.

I don't offer gutter clearing anymore.i always hated it despite earning good money for doing it.

I don't use ladders at all for any of my work.its just not worth the risk....

I know a few  older cleaners  close to retirement who have badly hurt themselves falling off ladders in the last few years....
price higher/work harder!

Sometimes you still need ladders to unblock a downspout or if you accidentally unclip the gutter bracket....no thanks!👍😄

Did my usual £120 for 2 hrs window cleaning and did over 3 Gutter clears as add-ons which added an hour to my round. The point I'm trying to raise is I'm there anyhow cleaning their windows. Throw up the ladder and fit in the ladder limb with bucket attachment and in 10mins the front gutter is cleared. One happy customer when they see the debris in their brown bin, its a no brainer.
