I always time my pure water production. 20 minutes for every 100L to be made. I needed 300L to fill my IBC tank today. So the timer was set for 1 hour. Timer went off but I got way laid and went out to the garage a couple of minutes later to find it was still running and it was overflowing out of the lid. The auto shut off valve had failed! The first time in a long while it had done so. Imagine if I'd left it on over night?

I have a float level on/off switch with a solenoid valve. I also have my r/o on the timer now. My r/o comes on at 5pm and switches off at 6 the next morning. Often the day's water has been replenished by 11pm that evening.

I got my system fitted 5 years ago. Ran my RO in the van and went out later and the pure was coming out the lid and down the exhaust hole for the heater. Oliver was saying one in a hundred float valve fails and I had it. He changed it for a new one and it was working fine. My first year was full of teething problems with my hotwater system but wouldn't have had it any other way. I ended up learning fairly quickly about how everything works and how to maintain it myself so I saved money in the long run.

My static has a float switch but i also put in an overflow pipe as the solenoid/switch failed once & i had an inch of water in my garage.
