Warmest Spring and May on record
« on: June 05, 2024, 09:50:36 pm »
They just lie outright now. It is one of the coldest on record for sure.
When I went on exam leave for GCSEs in 1995, it was 25c day in day out in May.

Literally just lie at you from the telly. They want us to deny the evidence of our own eyes. They tried to say it was warmer at night, but I have had to wrap up in my body warmer most evenings to have my evening pipe  - they think that'll make us believe them because we're in bed and maybe it could have been warm at night. Modded for language

We've had some cracking May's in the past, one of my favourite months, May 2024 was definitely not one of them. Felt flipping freezing at times.

Yep, it’s been cold, very cold, wet and windy.

To think we’re in June and still not exactly summer weather!

Dullest Spring and winter on record would be a far more accurate description.

Depends what part of the UK they at taking results from. What you have to understand, thousands of people depend (wages) on climate change so if they turn round and say its a racket then they will be out of a job. Self-Preservation kicks in, in any job including the PMs. I'm still looking for the hole in the Ozone.

Very disappointing start to summer...a cheeky week in Ibiza was much needed....as soon as we flew back into Manchester airport a thick blanket of cloud descended....

At least one person will be happy with this weather(Adam aka GOMO)👍😄

And here's some context.

They want us to deny the evidence of our own eyes.

Have you been reading 1984?

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

George Orwell.

I like it when they tell us that men can - literally - be women.

But that to one side, the UK produces around 1% of the world's greenhouse emissions.  We're already world leaders at reducing them.

Unless China/USA/Russia/India/Japan/Germany reduce theirs, nothing we do in the UK with make any difference what-so-ever.

So sod any green taxes and lets use our natural resources, such as oil in the North Sea.

Co2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere. Of that, humans produce 3%. The uk adds such a tiny proportion to that figure as to be completely meaningless.

If we want to stunt our economy and make everyone poorer. Go ahead.

There has always been climate change. Ice ages, warm periods. Cold periods. It will happen no matter what.

It’s all nonsense.

The Great Barrier Reef - now the best it’s ever been in history.

The greening of the planet - areas the size of the Amazon greening over the last 20 years. Huge huge amounts of plant and tree growth.

At the end of the day, the climate will always change and the earth will adapt as it always has.

Also, in history, warmer temps have always equalled better life expectancy. It’s cold that kills more.

It's defo not been the warmest start to spring and summer in the North West.

Normally by now I'm wearing my summer 'gym type' fabric embroidered polo shirts but I'm still wearing the heavy cotton ones.....

Blame the jet stream,it's further North than usual so the winds are coming from the arctic direction

Yep. Lots of low pressure systems.
