Breakdown Cover for your Van.
« on: March 03, 2024, 12:04:33 pm »
Looking to renew my cover.

I've always used Green Flag, but when using a comparison site (as I always get a better deal than the rewal offer).   The exclusions on the comparison info site now says it does not cover vehicles for business use.  However green flag site has no mention of business use (unless you are running a fleet of vans).

I don't what to get caught out when I need help.  Has anyone had any issues when calling out Green flag ?

I might just go for RAC business cover to be safe but at double the cost I want to be sure before purchasing.

Yea I tried to add that to my business insurance and the breakdown policy they added was just the standard RAC cover that is no longer covered for business use.

I have AA via getting my van serviced with Ford.

Unfortunately had to use it last year for the first time, there were no issues in the AA  coming out and in the end towing me to the garage.
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

Same, breakdown cover included when using Ford for servicing.

Very good price that Daz. Have you declared having a fitted tank and hot system?

Tank yes(not mentioned the hot system).

Last year it was £397 but I just couldn't get it any cheaper.i have many years of no claims.its ridiculous that it only goes up to 9 years!I've got at least 20 years! ::)roll

Also my van is a year older so is worth less too.

Apparently all insurance has shot up according to my customers 👎

£468 fully comp with breakdown cover is a bargain.......£811 for mine with tank......I have 3 points for speeding though and one claim which was eventually called 50/50 so no payout......think it still goes against you though.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Zero chance you’d be covered should the worst happen. The hot system is a modification, plugged into the fuel tank etc.

Have a prang and they send an assessor out to inspect the damage. Could be interesting.
