Which Gardiners pole?
« on: January 28, 2024, 01:29:20 pm »
Hi guys. I’ve emailed Gardiners to ask advice on which pole for some bi monthly high rise flats I have. My current set up is a SLX 22 with extensions. # 6/7/8. It barely reaches what I need (which is around 45/46 feet. I think it just makes around 40 foot.

I really fancied a change and looked at the Extreme or ultimate but website not showing any in stock apart from the Extreme 18 foot. Plenty of SLX’s though. I want to stick with gardiners as it makes sense as I’ve only ever used them and I have to admit the SLX poles have served me well over the years.

What would you recommend? It’s prob half a dozen flats every few months at that height and my usual 22 foot one serves me well for 95% of my domestic work especially with the extensions on if necessary.

My 22 foot is also getting a bit old now so it might be an idea to buy a new pole but use my existing pole parts as the less used high rise one and swap the new pole for my every day pole if that makes sense?

Thanks in advance.

Ps is it worth holding out until they get extremes back in stock?

You really don’t want to use an SLX at that height, it will be too whippy and you will hardly get any pressure on the glass.
Personally for the sake of half a dozen flats every other month I wouldn’t go to the expense of a new pole to cover that height, I would just bin them off, unless of course you are thinking of trying to attract more high rise work?

Hi KS,

No it’s a long term contract so the high rise buildings are long term so I can’t bin them
Off. I have managed to clean them
Up to now but at a complete stretch and really uncomfortable trying to clean them.

Also I can’t see any super max’s for sale either. They must be short stocked

Hi Matthew,

Is this comfortable to use at high levels? It’s now showing as available on the site (only if I Google the actual specific pole-I think it says there are some glitches on their site)

At £720(for the super max 50)  is this quite a bit better than an SLX? It’s quite an expense so want to check it’s a lot more superior than the SLX?

Cheers

Also does anyone have the ultimate pole? It’s very very expensive but is this the god of all poles? A joy to use? They have the 46 foot version (reaches 51 feet) for £1580 plus vat but that’s so much money. Can the extra money be justified? Just in general I mean. I don’t mean specifically to me and my half dozen flats.

If you can justify the cost the ultimate is a much better pole stiffer and less affected by wind but it’s expensive, and heavier .The extream 47 is very whippy  and  with a very light breeze the pole bends sideways as well as going into the building .

Hi Suffolkcleaners

We have all of the pole ranges in stock -  however we have a caching issue following the recent software update on our website and some of these products are not showing within their category!

Here is a link https://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/blog/news/website-interrupt/ to a page with direct links to most of the products that are not showing correctly in their category.

Find the super max really good st that height . If you only use a few times a month not worth spending more .

I see the supermax 50 isn't the price you quoted @suffolkcleaners.
What you could always do is set the 50' pole up for this clean and the break it down to an slx25 for all the rest of your work.
(I looked at doing this a few years back so presume it still applies.)
I would suggest an slx25 base pole as it's insulated.

The super max will last for ages, very robust and rigid enough for high work in strong winds, better than an extreme at height.

If you can cope with the extra weight you are lugging about with a supermax.

I went on to an Xtreme after supermax as I have a lot of high work.
Believe me less weight - less tired at the end of the day.
