« on: December 19, 2023, 11:37:35 am »
Just looking at getting some earbuds to work with an android phone to take calls whilst working without getting the phone out,ie with mic. Never used any so would appreciate your experience of them, cheers Nick

I’ve got the xm5 in the over ear version.

They’re ok, just like anything under £500.

Have a look at Bone Conducting Headphones like these https://amzn.to/475zTgA They don't go in your ears but round them. They still allow you to hear what's going on around you while you listen to music or take calls etc. Call quality is fairly good but be aware that due to the bone conduction there will be limited bass, they are not hifi by any standard but for listening to music, podcasts or audio books while working and taking the odd call they are great. No cable as they are Bluetooth but you do need to charge them each day.

Beats Powerbeats Pro.

Waterproof, will never fall out your ears and can take phone calls.

My first pair lasted 4 years. Wore them every day and in the gym.

I use Shokz open run Pro's. They are the bone conducting type mentioned in an earlier post.
I don't like anything in or on my ears whilst working. They're comfortable, never fall off and connect fine with the Galaxy s23.
If you have Amazon prime they currently have a good offer on these

Did 15 years without any radio/talking books. Got some Bose ear buds but now use air pods.
Disappointed if I leave my lunch at home but absolutely gutted if I forget the pods.
They will make your day much better

Air pods have been a rip off for me
Left air pod started playing up
Got replaced in warranty

When out of warranty left air pod went again
To add insult to injury I lost the charging case in the cafe

Never lose things
So careful
Went straight back to cafe minutes later
Think someone had it and sold on eBay

I have an iPhone SE 2020
But seriously thinking of Android when it comes to a new smartphone
Apple are so expensive for everything 🙆🏻‍♂️

Bose QuietComfort 2 Earbuds are my go-to.

Always found other brands hard to stay in my ears due to their odd shape.  My last ones were the Bose Wired earphones, but the new earbuds are the nuts.

Don't underestimate how great it is to answer your phone on your watch while working.it was an absolute pain to get my phone out of my pocket before ear buds and a smartwatch.

Hi Chad, i bought the Shokz open run Pro's yesterday, after reading your post, i had heard and read good things about them
sometime ago, ive had Apple ear buds, but rarely used them, as i found them very uncomfortable after a while in the ears,
plus they used to fall out,  the Open run pro's are a game changer, so light & comfortable, you forget your wearing them,
the sound from them is a lot better than i imagined it would be considering they are Bone conducting headphones, and you
can still safely hear what's going on around you.
Thanks again Chad for your post, Happy New Year to you and yours.  👍
