Hi all

I’m Looking at getting a 250 litre flat tank utilising either my pump box or my trolley to pull the water from it only needs to be a real basic set up as i clean only 2 days a week 250 litres is enough water i have read flat tanks get airlocks etc is this true and or is there anything else to be aware of downsides to a flat tank etc before I purchase

250 litre tank flat is probably going to waste 50l in the bottom and the air locks would start before that.

get an upright or maybe a 3/400l flat if it fits your space better, you wont be cleaning much with a 250l flat tank

If you really want/need a  flat tank mount it  so that it tilts towards the outlet. And/or get a ramp you can put under a wheel in the rare event you can't park in the best way possible.

I have a 650flat. I have used a 400flat too.

Years ago now, a local lad had 2 Vauxhall Combo vans. He had a 400litre flat tank in one and a 400litre upright tank in the other. He said he would never fit a flat tank again. We live in a hilly area. He always had to park with the left side wheels on the curb with the van pointing downhill. This was to stop the pump sucking air when he was down to about 25% full.

Started off with 250 flat tank . Now got 400 upright . Flat would have been ok  if I got a bigger tank . . I can now use all water except possibly 20l at the end of a day

I don't think the number of days you work is important. It's how much you do in a day that determines the size of tank you need. Maybe you could get a 500l tank and get all your work done in one day.

Upright tank and 500L minimum.250L is just too small IMO .i use the best part of 500L in 6 hours some days....

A flat tank will cause airlocks when run too low which will pee you off big time!

Upright tank for me as I work out of a pickup.
Smaller footprint for the same volume of water, no airlock issues and more use able space left in the back.
