I renewed my PL insurance policy with Gleaming 3 weeks ago and was given the option to pay by DD at no extra cost (previously I had paid in one go but I may be moving so thought paying monthly was a good idea).
I was given the option of the DD being taken on the 15th or 31st and chose the 15th, nothing has been taken today so I tried calling them but nobody is able to take the call.
I do have an email address so will write to them tomorrow but prefer to speak to someone.

I am just curious if anyone else here chose to pay by DD and how it is going.

I pay £15 a month and that's with employers liability ins on it as well.

Infact I need to cancel that I dont employ anyone

Yep £50 for employers and public. It’s only me and the other half now so it definitely needs looking at again

I did not realise that and it does not tell you that when you call them, you get a robot asking for your name, then put on hold while it rings for a while, then told there is no one to take your call at the moment. So I rang many times and used different the options.
I did get a reply by email from Gleaming who did not seem to have a record of the proposed DD dates and amounts. She was helpful and it appears to be sorted out now.

Old thread but did not want to start a new one.
I never did receive the direct debit schedule I asked for.
My PL insurance is due to end at the beginning of August and I do not want to take out a new policy as I only window clean 1 day a week now and do other work from home the rest of the week. Also fed up with having to chase the insurer to take my direct debit.
I asked if they could confirm that I was not on auto renew.

I was told, "The annual review date is 3rd August and all our policies are continuous with a 30 day cancellation clause.  So no cancellation  charges, but 30 days written notice is required (unless the business has ceased trading and then that can be waived)."

Not sure what that means and how to deal with it so I sent an email giving them 30 days notice to not renew my policy.
Is that the correct way to deal with it?

Don't forget some PL policies don't cover damage to the property your working on.  Some do, but at a higher price.  So difficult to compare from the comments on here.

I would understand "written notice" to be a letter signed by you, not an email.
